The youngsters tried hard to suppress their fear, however, the wyvern was simply too high-level of a creature for them.
Adding in its innate draconic aura, it was almost impossible to maintainposure.
After killing their first four victims, the two ember wyverns did a one-eighty, performing the same attack it first did–flying towards the representatives with a gaping maw.
No one was hit this time though, prompting the wyverns to change their attack patterns upon realizing that the remaining representatives weren''t so easy to kill.
Surviving the second attack, the representatives slowly grew ustomed to the draconic pressure–their tense muscles gradually rxing.
This allowed them to move much more freely.
Not as free as a flying wyvern though, in the end, they are only human–bound by thews of gravity.
Promptly after changing its attack to cmitous downward dives, another four representatives perished in the simted realm–sent back to their ringside seats.
In just one minute, only three representatives remained on both sides.
For An Academy, the surviving ones were Asha, Abel, and naturally, Damien.
On the other hand, for Colzen, it was the three strongest duelists: Shye, Siegfried, and Ian.
The remaining representatives pondered whether to use their trump cards in this match or not considering that most of them would participate in the next match, the three-on-three.
The An representatives faced particrly difficult decision-making because a loss here would result in Colzen being crowned as the king of Valenzia for the year.
However, if they decided to deploy their trump cards, there''s a risk they might not recharge in time, leading to another defeat in the pivotal fifth match.
Once again, Damien was in a tight spot.
The bastards from Colzen are just too full of surprises, who knows if they had some sort of scheme to escape from Horcus'' [(Time)Chrono Cube Lv.3 (Unique)] in the next match?
''Hmph, they''re just as hard-pressed as I am, no need to impulsively use trump cards.'' thought Damien as he narrowly avoided another dive attack from the ember wyvern.
Regrettably, he found it difficult to stick to his decision of withholding his trump cards, as the draconic creature promptly lost patience.
The wyvern pped its wings vigorously, flying higher and higher until it reached the height it was aiming for.
Its fear-inducing eyes then stared menacingly at the representatives below as it opened its enormous jaws.
Shortly after, under hundreds of thousands of horrified eyes, vermillion-colored particles slowly converged a few meters away from its mouth, eventually turning into a huge ball equivalent to a fourth of the dome''s size.
Seeing the huge sphere taking shape right above them, rm bells rang inside the remaining representatives'' heads.
They knew that their chances of dodging the vermillion orb were bleak.
However, none of them gave up–their eyes narrowed into slits.
"Horrifying!! These ember wyverns aren''t ying around!! Can the representatives survive?!"
Thementator said, his loud voice rumbling across the entire arena.
He, too, felt the pressure, however, he carried on–doing his job like a true professional.
Shortly after, the huge vermillion orb sted through the air, emitting a spiraling pattern of energy apanied by a faint draconic roar.
Naturally, on the stage, it was every man for himself.
Some representatives decided to use their trump cards to survive while some tried their hardest to survive knowing that their trump cards were essential in the next round.
Unfortunately for those who decided to save their trump cards, they failed to survive the massive destruction brought about by the vermillion sphere, transforming into two azure rays–sent back to their ringside seats.
Shockingly, the An representatives all survived while on the Colzen side, only Shye remained.
Promptly after Siegfried and Ian materialized in front of the Colzen ringside seats, the two of them punched the ground in frustration.
Both of them were on the brink of survival; unfortunately, they fell just short.
Once more, the fate of Colzen in this round hinged on Shye''s shoulders.
Seeing the results, the An crowd burst into cheers, continuously chanting "An" as Damien, Asha, and Abel gloriously stood on the stage–proud smiles stered on their young faces.
Realizing at thest moment that they would perish should they decide to save the aces up their sleeves, the An representatives unhesitatingly revealed their trump cards.
They have Horcus'' overpowered ability for thest match anyway so they had fewer things to fearpared to Colzen, though, it was unknown whether Damien still had something or not.
As the simted realm inside the blue dome burned, the huge holographic screen suddenly split into four parts, each part showing how the four remaining students onstage survived the terrifying st.
Amongst the four, Shye''s method was the simplest one.
A pair of rotten wings appeared on his back and with a single powerful p, he flew, avoiding the immense devastation.
As for Abel, the other scout representative of An, he suddenly dove at his own shadow, disappearing into the ground.
Simrly, Asha herself sunk into the ground like a mole, however, instead of a shadow, she hid in a void pocket before reappearing a few secondster.
Shockingly, the pocket exploded right after, causing devastation of a smaller scalepared to the wyvern''s vermilion orb.
The wyvern was flying though so it wasn''t hit by the void explosion. Well, even if it was, it wouldn''t suffer any sort of damage anyway.
Its defense was simply beyond what mere students could prate.
Thest one, Damien Martinez, did the craziest thing among the four, prompting the An crowd to cheer louder.
Coating his katana with the familiar sword intent, Damien used another trump card, [Fortified Dash Lv.3 (Umon)], which not only enveloped him in a tough protective barrier but also allowed him to dash forward with unprecedented speed.
Combining two trump cards along with a [Power sh Lv.4], Damien valiantly shed through the vermilion orb, barely managing to create a small safe space for himself on the edge of the stage, right below the enormous wyvern.
At that moment, Shye seemingly faded into the background–a side character to Damien''s story.
