Avery leaned against a soft pillow on the bed andforted her daughter.
After the little girl had fallen asleep from exhaustion, Cayden gently lifted her and ced her in another
bed beside them.

and hesitant voice, “Mommy, I can''t wait to grow up. I want to grow up fast so that I can protect you and
make sure you never get hurt again.”

responsibility now as a mother is to take care of you, but once your dad and I be old, it''ll be your

care of us. When we grow up, we''ll definitely take good care of you to show you how grateful we are for

talk to my mommy like that. Rory and I might watch and learn from you. When you''re old, you wouldn''t
want us to treat you the same way, would you?”
The little guy might appear to be innocent, but the words he uttered drove Allie mad. At that moment,
she regretted showering him with too much affection.
