    Oblivious to the icy-cold look in Cayden''s eyes, Nicole stared dreamily at him as she sat at the dining


    table.


    “Of course! Given how charming you are, I doubt any woman would be able to resist you! I''m sure a


    man as smart as you would understand how I feel about you. To be honest, I was deeply in love with


    you the moment I first saw you!” she said shyly.


    “I appreciate it that you have feelings for me, Ms. Lambert,” Cayden replied coldly while suppressing


    the urge to get sarcastic.


    He then nced at his watch and saw that it was almost eight.


    Not wanting to keep Avery waiting for too long, he said, “Are you done eating, Ms. Lambert? I do


    apologize, but I still have some business to attend to. I''ll see you next time.”


    As much as Nicole didn''t want him to leave, she could only nod obediently when she saw the cold look


    on his face. “All right, then. You can go ahead and leave if you''re busy. We can meet again some other


    time.”

    After unbuckling her seat belt, Nicole turned around and gave Cayden a quick peck on the cheek

    She then opened the car door, hopped out of the car, and mmed the car door shut behind her.

    atmosphere and my strong feelings for Cayden. I wonder how he feels about me... It''s fine if he still


    can''t forget about Avery just yet. His feelings for her wille to pass over time. When men have

    time to move on, or their new partner isn''t good enough. I believe I have plenty of time to spend with

    Cayden grabbed a wet wipe and scrubbed at the spot on his cheek where Nicole had kissed him just


    now. He was so disgusted by her kiss that he even applied some disinfectant to the wet wipe. He was


    scrubbing so hard that he nearly removed ayer of his skin.


    The look in his eyes was terrifyingly cold.


    That woman is lucky I still have use for her! Otherwise, I would surely put her through a fate worse than


    death!


    ire was knitting a sweater on the couch when Nicole came in grinning from ear to ear.


    She then tossed her handbag aside and wrapped her arms around ire''s neck. Nicole was in such a


    good mood that she didn''t even change into her slippers after entering the house. “I have good news


    for you, Mom! I''m going to have a boyfriend soon!”


    ire put the sweater down and turned around in delight. “Really? Where does he work, Nickie? Bring


    him home when you have the time, okay? I''ll help you give him a proper screening!”


    Nicole''s heart started racing again as she thought about Cayden''s handsome face. Not wanting to


    reveal the truth just yet, she said, “It''s still too early for me to bring him home, Mom. Don''t worry; I''ll be


    sure to introduce him to you and Dad when the time is right. He''s an excellent man, so I am confident


    that you two will approve of him.”


    ire gave her an affectionate pat on the head and said with a smile, “Trying to be mysterious, are


    you? Listen, Nickie. A person''s personality and attitude matter more than their external traits like


    appearances and wealth. It''s important to make sure that you two get along very well.”


    Nicole gave ire a hug as she replied, “I know, Mom. I assure you, we get along really well. In fact, I


    don''t think I''ve ever felt this great before! I love him very much!”


    Recalling how Nicole had once obsessed over Cayden, ire asked, “Nickie, that new boyfriend of


    yours... He''s not like Cayden, is he? I know that men like Cayden are excellent, but they''re cold-


    hearted and won''t make good lovers. You need to stay away from those types of men. Do you


    understand?”


    Nicole had wanted to tell ire more about Cayden at first, but she was no longer in the mood after


    hearing ire''s prejudice against Cayden.

    She shuddered when the cold air from outside entered the room. Upon turning around, she saw

    Not wanting to see him while she was still angry at him, Avery stood up and made her way to the other


    side of the room. However, Cayden was faster and caught up to her in just a second.


    He grabbed Avery by her slender arms and gently pinned her against the wall, instantly rendering her


    immobile.
