    William''s study was spacious, with a ten-tiered mahogany bookshelf covering all the walls.


    Books of various genres were neatly arranged on the shelves.


    After sneaking into the study like a burr, Nicole quickly locked the door. Being surrounded by tens of


    thousands of books made her feel dizzy.


    Knowing her father well, she believed he would have kept the most important documents in a secure


    safe, and she would need some time to look for the safe.


    Nicole removed her heels and rolled her sleeves before searching carefully for the safe.


    Despite going through the bookshelves, drawers, the interior of the couch, and even the attic in the


    study, she still failed to locate it.


    Nicole''s half-hour search attempt in the study was in vain even though she was already sweating


    profusely.


    Out of frustration, she pounded the bookshelf with force, and to her surprise, a click echoed in the


    room. It seemed her actions had triggered a button, causing the topyer of the bookshelf to spin over.


    The silver safe, which was built into the inneryer of the bookshelf, appeared right before Nicole''s


    eyes.


    Her heart pounded as she climbed thedder barefoot to reach the top of the bookshelf. Excitement


    surged inside her as she tried to open it, but she was prompted to enter a password.


    Upon considering William''s love for ire, Nicole entered ire''s birthday without hesitation.


    Unfortunately, it was the wrong password.


    She tried keying her birthday but to no avail as well.


    The warning sign of the safe continued shing red, reminding her that she had only three attempts. In


    other words, another incorrect entry would cause the safe to lock.


    Nicole''s desire to ess the safe conflicted with her doubts about whether she should keep trying.


    If she seeded in figuring out the password, she would be able to ess the safe, but if she failed,


    her foster father would know someone had tried to break into the safe. Yet, she was worried that she


    might not have another chance to sneak in if she did not give it another shot.


    As Nicole weighed her options, her phone rang, startling her and almost causing her to fall off the


    ladder.


    After steadying herself and taking a few deep breaths, Nicole answered the phone. “Hello, Mom?”


    “Nickie, what are you busy with? You should being over now,” ire uttered.


    “Mom, there was a car ident on Rollwer Road. The cops cleared the road minutes ago, but I''m still


    stuck in traffic. I''m on my way now, so don''t panic. How''s Grandpa?” Nicole lied, pretending to express


    her concern.


    When ire heard about the car ident, she became anxious. “A car ident on Rollwer Road?


    Nickie, that road is too dangerous, so don''t take that road. I would rather you take a longer route. Why


    don''t you take the city highway? You have to drive carefully at night. Your grandpa is all right. Don''t


    worry. Nickie, I''m going to end the call now so that you can focus better on the road. See youter.”


    After hanging up the phone, Nicole stared at the safe and decided to take a gamble.


    When she was about to enter her father''s birthday, another set of numbers popped into her mind. She


    decided to enter those numbers.


    Nicole did not have high hopes for herst attempt, so she was stunned when she heard a soft click


    and watched the safe open miraculously!


    The numbers she had just entered were the birthday of ire''s biological daughter. She did not expect

    Once again, the revtion filled her with resentment, but Nicole knew she had a more pressing matter

    She started rifling through the safe box, and when she reached the bottom of the stack of documents,

    Then she carefully put everything back in its original position.

    check its contents.


    Her ultra-thinptop performance was excellent, as it could disy the content of the disk with


    remarkable speed.


    Nicole''s jaw dropped the moment the video started ying.


    The video disyed a young, handsome man, who appeared to be around eighteen or neen years


    old, bribing a middle-aged individual.


    The quality of the video was decent, not as good as the current pixel standards, but clear enough to


    show that the young man was Cayden as the person looked and sounded the same as the current


    Cayden.


    In the video, the young Cayden brought abination lock briefcase to Marvin. He then opened it,


    revealing ayer of high-quality tea leaves on top.


    After removing the tea leaves, Nicole saw stacks of neatly arranged banknotes inside thebination

    Meanwhile, Avery''s right eyelid had been twitching since she returned from work, and she could not


    help but feel restless.
