    In the vice president’s office of Yancey Bank, ude sat at his desk, watching as Sophie entered.


    “What’s going on. Soof?” He looked calm.


    Sophie asked, “Have you not seen the news?”


    Of course, he had. A newspapery on his desk, but his expression hardened at her words. “I have.”


    Sophie replied, “Do you have feelings for her?”

    “Why was she captured then?”

    ude thought about that too, so he said, “I’m looking into it.”

    “Only Olivia’s face was in the picture and not yours.”

    Jacob had been there when Sophie left home, and now he hade after her.
