    Chapter 2014 Good Girl

Cindy was putting herself in Ian''s shoes. She could tell that it was already hard for Ian to be so nice to

Gary. While they were on the way to the hospital, Cindy was mentally preparing herself to bring up the

topic. However, she couldn''t seem to find the right time to talk about it. Everything that she wanted to

say had been mentioned in her text, and she didn''t want to repeat the contents of her message. But at

the same time, she couldn''t seem to find a new way to exin herself. So, she was caught in a rather

awkward position where she felt like she couldn''t do much.

When the car stopped in the parking lot of the hospital, Cindy unbuckled her seat belt to get out of the

car. Gary didn''t seem like he had any intention to leave his car. "Do you have anything to say to me?"

He turned to look at Cindy. She froze for a moment before she looked up to meet his gaze. He was

looking at her with a sincere expression—she had never seen him looking at her that way in the past.

For some reason, she felt herself panicking a little.

"What do you want me to say, Mr. Frye?" she asked.

He chuckled before looking away and tapping his fingers on his steering wheel. "Forget it. It''s nothing.

    You should go."

Cindy herself felt like she had something to tell Gary too, but at that moment, she couldn''t seem to find

the words. So, after hesitating for a while, she ended up stepping out of the car. After waving at him

and reminding him to drive safe, she strode toward the inpatient wards. Ian had been waiting for Cindy

toe over. He had already prepared dinner in his room, but he hadn''t started eating yet.

Aurora wasn''t in the hospital as she already headed home a while earlier, and Ian''s driver was sitting

on the empty bed beside him. When Cindy let herself into the room, she immediately noticed that Ian

looked like he was waiting for someone. "Who are you waiting for?" She hadn''t told Ian that she was

going to visit him in the evening.

Ian''s driver immediately jumped off the bed when Cindy walked in. "Okay! She''s here. You guys can

eat now. I''ll leave you guys alone."

Cindy turned to look at the driver. "We can eat together. Where are you going?"

The driver sauntered toward the door. "I''m not interested in having a meal with you lovebirds. I''d rather

eat on my own." Upon hearing that, she looked away and smiled before cing her bag on Ian''s bed

    and washing her hands.

Ian didn''t injure his limbs, so he could still get out of bed to walk around. Instead of eating on the bed,

he led Cindy to the couch by the side, where the dishes had been set up on the coffee table. Cindy

raised her cutleries to scoop up some vegetables. "By the way, Mr. Frye was the one who sent me

    here."

Ian''s movements came to a halt. "Did you bump into him on the way here?" Cindy shook her head

before giving him an honest answer. "No. He came to mypany. But we didn''t talk much—he simply

sent me over and left after I got out of the car."

"Why are you telling me all these details? Are you afraid that I might get angry?" Ian asked. She

thought about his question for a while. "I just wanted to tell you the truth so that there won''t be any

    misunderstandings between us."

Ian reached over to pinch Cindy''s cheek. "That''s a good girl." Since Cindy was being so transparent

about her actions, Ian didn''t hold anything against her. "Okay, I got it. I know there''s nothing going on

between you guys." He scooped some more food onto her te. "I''ve booked the flight tickets. You can

start packing, and we''ll leave next week."

Cindy was stunned. "Are you even fit to travel?"

He felt the bump on the back of his head. "The doctor said that he''ll monitor my condition for another

two days and that I''ll just have to be a little more cautious after he decides that I''m fine. There shouldn''t

    be much of a problem."

Furthermore, Logan was in charge of organizing the engagement party, so Ian didn''t need to worry

much about that. Cindy nodded. "You know yourself best. Your health should be your priority, okay?"

They didn''t say much after that and simply ate dinner in silence. Ian''s driver didn''te back even

after Ian and Cindy had finished their meal. After that, Cindy stayed in the room to apany him.
