    Chapter 1674

    Chapter 1674 Walking Alone

Cindy opened one of the bottles and took a few sips of the drink before she turned back to the game.

Aurora called me earlier, and I’m assuming that Ian had been beside her. If that’s the case, why did he

about me? She let out a long sigh. She couldn’t read his mind at all.

After standing around the bench for a while, Cindy fished her phone out to find a text from Aurora. ‘Ian

left the house. Is he with you now?’ the text said. Cindy hastily replied to tell Aurora that Ian was

ying badminton at the park. Just a few secondster, Cindy received a call from Aurora.

“Is he with you right now?” Aurora couldn’t conceal the happiness in her voice.

“He just got here a while ago,” Cindy replied with a nod.

Aurora chuckled at this. “After I called you earlier, I told him that you were ying badminton with some

other boy. He couldn’t seem to sit still after that. He seemed a little moody at first, but he sneaked out

of the house without telling me after that. I was thinking that it’s a natural act for him to go out and look

for you. There’s no reason for him to be so secretive about it.” Her voice carried a hint of amusement.

Cindy couldn’t stop herself from ncing in Ian’s direction after she heard Aurora’s words. As she

gazed at the man, Aurora continued to speak into the phone. “That guy is obviously jealous. He’s just

    not admitting it!”

If Aurora had told her the same thing while they were at home, Cindy might not have believed her.

Aurora often teased Cindy about her rtionship with Ian, and Cindy had gotten used to it. However,

something felt rather different during the phone call. As Cindy contemted Aurora’s words, she

looked at how Peter and Ian were giving their all in the badminton match. Both of them were trying very

    hard to win.

Ian had always been a moreid back and carefree person. For him to take this game so seriously…

Could he really be jealous? Cindy felt her heart racing. On the surface, it might seem like he’s getting

jealous of my rtionship with Peter. But! But… How could he possibly get jealous because of me? I

can’t imagine such a thing happening. I don’t even dare to hope for Ian to develop any feelings toward

    me.

In the end, Cindy merely let out a softugh, and she quickly changed the topic. “Do you want toe

out too? It must be boring to be home alone, right?”

There was still a hint of yfulness in Aurora’s tone. “No, thank you. Both of you can enjoy a date night

out tonight—I won’t be around to disturb you guys.”

After Cindy ended the call with Aurora, she turned to look in Ian’s direction. They had finally ended the

match, and they were talking to each other. Both of them seemed to have used all of their strength

earlier, but Cindy had no idea who the winner was.

She brought two bottles of drinks over and handed one to Ian. “Are you guys still ying?” It was still

early in the evening—the park had just started to get a little livelier. However, Ian returned the racket to

Cindy. “Nope. I haven’t had anything to eat. Aren’t you hungry?” Only then did Cindy realize that they

    had yet to have dinner.

Throughout their conversation, Peter stood around without saying anything. Cindy felt rather sorry to

leave him out of the conversation, so she turned to look at him. “Have you eaten already? You were

here earlier than I was, so I’m guessing you haven’t had anything to eat yet. Let’s go for a meal.” Peter

had gifted her a racket, so she figured that it would only be right for her to repay him by buying him a

    meal.

Initially, Ian had already turned to leave the park, but his movements came to a halt when he heard

what Cindy said. He couldn’t stop himself from grinding his teeth together. They’ve already yed

badminton together, but now, she even wants to have a meal with him?

Peter took a long look at Cindy before he nced at Ian. “Sure. I haven’t had dinner, either,” he uttered

with a nod. Ian couldn’t believe his own ears. He was tempted to let out an icy sneer, but he knew that

doing so would make things awkward for Cindy. Therefore, he chose to turn around and walk off

without saying anything. Cindy and Peter hurried over to pack their gym bags before they tagged along

    behind Ian.

Ian kept himself a distance away from them. His hands were in his pockets and he walked in a stiff and

upright manner. Meanwhile, Cindy chit-chatted with Peter about the badminton club as they walked

next to each other. However, when she looked up to see the man walking in front of them, she couldn’t

stop the thoughts that surfaced in her mind. I’ve never realized this in the past, but seeing his back

    now, he seems really lonely.
