Putting down the tray, Matilda sat on the edge of the bed. “Nothing. What feelings could there be when
it’s been so many years? Shyness? Anger? I felt nary a thing.”
Sophia chortled. “I noticed that he kept stealing nces at you while we were eating yesterday. I
wonder what that meant.”
Matilda was startled. In the next instance, sheughed. “He was probably surprised since it was the
first time I was so easy-going.” After saying that, she stretched backward. “It’s not just you all, for I
actually feel that I’ve changed a lot, too.”
