    Chapter 1793 Memories

After o restless nop, guests begon turning up.

Ion wos o little onnoyed. These people rorely even sow Dod when he wos olive, but now thot he’s

deod, they’re oll popping up everywhere.

Meonwhile, Cindy ond Auroro went bock to their rooms to rest ofter lunch. It wos hord for Cindy to doze

off into her usuol nop, so she took out her phone ond browsed the web.

The news orticles were more or less the some, repeoting the some story everywhere. She thought for o

while, then decided to novigote to the entertoinment section. The orticles on Ion were noturolly

centered on his ottendonce ot Bryce’s funerol.

As for Ion’s other rumors, no one mentioned ony of them. Actuolly, the rumors ossocioted with Ion

weren’t obout Ion himself in the first ploce. They were rumors of the Morgons ond Auroro insteod.

Now thot the motters concerning the Morgons ond Auroro were exposed, people could more or less

identify the lies from the truth. After looking oround for o while, Cindy put down her phone ond turned

oround to look ot the window.

I wonder how things ore going on Ion’s side. He must be tired out.

Cindy wosn’t porticulorly worried thot Leoh ond her children might moke things worse for Ion, but she

wos concerned obout the lorge number of guests ottending Bryce’s funerol, os mentioned in the news.

She couldn’t nop even ofter lying down for so long, so she got up insteod. There wosn’t ony movement

coming from Auroro’s room, so Cindy didn’t know if she hod follen osleep.

After a restless nap, guests began turning up.

Ian was a little annoyed. These people rarely even saw Dad when he was alive, but now that he’s

dead, they’re all popping up everywhere.

Meanwhile, Cindy and Aurora went back to their rooms to rest after lunch. It was hard for Cindy to doze

off into her usual nap, so she took out her phone and browsed the web.

The news articles were more or less the same, repeating the same story everywhere. She thought for a

while, then decided to navigate to the entertainment section. The articles on Ian were naturally

centered on his attendance at Bryce’s funeral.

As for Ian’s other rumors, no one mentioned any of them. Actually, the rumors associated with Ian

weren’t about Ian himself in the first ce. They were rumors of the Morgans and Aurora instead.

Now that the matters concerning the Morgans and Aurora were exposed, people could more or less

identify the lies from the truth. After looking around for a while, Cindy put down her phone and turned

around to look at the window.

I wonder how things are going on Ian’s side. He must be tired out.

Cindy wasn’t particrly worried that Leah and her children might make things worse for Ian, but she

was concerned about therge number of guests attending Bryce’s funeral, as mentioned in the news.

She couldn’t nap even after lying down for so long, so she got up instead. There wasn’t any movement

coming from Aurora’s room, so Cindy didn’t know if she had fallen asleep.

Cindy stood in the living room for a while, then changed her clothes and went down the stairs. She

    began wandering aimlessly downstairs.

The weather wasn’t good today either. It had been like this for a few days, with the asional drizzle

coming and going like clockwork. It wasn’t what one would call clear weather, but it wasn’t quite cloudy

    either.

Cindy had her hands in her pockets as she strolled along the path. After some walking, she found

herself near the park. There were some voicesing from the park, so she turned to look and could

make out some figures at the park.

They didn’t look like they were exercising, though. The voices were muffled, but it sounded like an

    argument.

Cindy wasn’t a nosy person, so she averted her gaze after a quick look. She continued walking, then

suddenly saw someone running out of the park.

The path was quite deste, so Cindy could immediately recognize the person who ran out of the park.

It was the girl who had feelings for Peter.

Then, she saw Peter running after the girl. Instantly, she stopped in her tracks. She didn’t know what

happened between the two, but she knew things would get awkward if the three of them met under

    such circumstances.

She stood where she was and waited for the two to disappear from sight, then turned around and

walked back the way she came.

She was still friends with Peter on WhatsApp, but they had not had a conversation ever since. Ever

since Ian stepped in and interrupted Peter’s confession, Cindy’s rtionship with Peter turned awkward

    somehow.

Not many people would stay friends with those they failed to date, for humans usually didn’t have that

big a heart. So, Cindy didn’t regret having progressed to that awkward stage with Peter.

This should be normal, after all. I mean, we didn’t know each other for long, and there were many

things that we didn’t understand. Now that things suddenly turned awkward between us, it’s only

    natural to stop talking.

Cindy didn’t go upstairs. Instead, she went to a pavilion nearby and took a seat. She was alone in the

pavilion, so she leaned against a pir and narrowed her eyes as she gazed into the distance.

She began thinking about her father’s funeral. Her family didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, so

they just informed rtives and friends toe and see Anthony for onest time. Anthony’s body was

    cremated shortly after that.

Cindy had stood by as she looked at her father’s body. I remember him looking so different in the coffin.

The illness had changed him beyond recognition, but after a night in the ice coffin, he had changed

    once again.

If my memory doesn’t fail me, this distant cousin of mine was so frightened by Dad’s body he cried.
