    Chapter 1673 Getting Competitive

There was no need for them to tell an acquaintance that they were a couple. Peter nodded as he

rxed, then nced at Ian. “Do you want to y with us?”

Ian hadn’t intended to participate in their games, but he felt the sudden urge to do so after hearing

Peter’s question. “Can I borrow your racket?” he asked as he turned to look at Cindy.

Cindy had no reason to reject Ian, so she handed the racket to him. He took it and waved it around a

few times. This grip feels really good. I’m sure this racket isn’t cheap, Ian thought. Without any proper

warm-up, Ian served the shuttlecock and yed with Peter for a few minutes just to get used to this

    racket.

Cindy stood by the side and watched both the men y. However, she sensed a figure approaching

her after a short while. The person spoke up before Cindy had a chance to turn around. “I’m surprised.

    You’ve got some skills.”

When Cindy turned around, she wasn’t surprised to find the girl who had thrown her bottle away earlier.

Although Cindy was a good-tempered person, it didn’t mean that she didn’t have a temper. When she

heard what the girl said, she immediately let out an icy scoff. “Well, should I pick one for myself now? I

think Peter’s pretty good-looking. What do you think?”

The girl’s expression stiffened. “You made things really clear with your actions—even I could tell that

you’re interested in him. Do you think he isn’t aware of your feelings?” Cindy asked.

With her eyes fixed on the game between Ian and Peter, Cindy continued speaking to the girl. “Does he

know about your feelings? Or does he not know? Or… Is he just pretending not to know?” She clicked

her tongue. “Sometimes, men aren’t as dumb as you think they are. I’m sure he’s well aware of who

    likes or dislikes him.”

Coincidentally, Ian and Peter finished their first match right after Cindy finished speaking. Peter turned

to look at Cindy. “I have another racket with me. Do you want to y too? I can bring my racket over for

    you.”

Cindy had never been a huge fan of this sport, so she quickly waved him off. “It’s fine. I’d rather just

watch both of you y.” After that, Peter turned around and started another game with Ian. He had

obviously seen the young girl standing beside Cindy, but he didn’tment on her at all. Although it

hadn’t been appropriate for them to start a conversation in such a situation, the girl was clearly

saddened by the fact that Peter hadn’t even greeted her.

She was still holding the drink that was meant for Peter, and she let out a soft scoff before she turned

and left. Cindy only turned around to peek at the girl after some time. To Cindy’s relief, the girl had

packed her bag to leave the park. Phew. I thought she was going to stay around and continue ying

    badminton with others, she thought.

I wonder if I went overboard with my words earlier. I hadn’t intended to get involved in her rtionship

with Peter, but she directed all of her anger toward the wrong person. I didn’t do anything to her, so I

can’t let her step all over me! When Cindy shifted her focus back to the match, she realized that

    something was wrong.

Both men looked like they had ced all of their strength and focus into the game. Both of them had

solemn expressions on their faces, and they were starting to use sly tactics in their game. It was

obvious that both men were trying their best to win.

Although Cindy barely knew anything about badminton, she could tell that they were both getting

competitive. She knitted her brows as she watched him. Why can’t they just have a friendly match? Are

men always thispetitive when ites to ying sports? After a while, Cindy got bored of their

game. She wasn’t interested in the match’s oue, especially since it wasn’t an official tournament.

They might never even bump into each other again in the future. Why can’t they just y one or two

matches in peace? Things tend to turn ugly whenever people startpeting against one another.

Later, Cindy shifted her focus to Ian. Obviously, Ian had some experience in ying badminton

because his skills were on par with Peter’s. This came as a surprise to Cindy—she had always thought

that Ian would be hopeless in sports. Even after a while, there was still no clear winner between Peter

and Ian. Once Cindy got bored, she returned to the bench, where there were still drinks that she had

    bought from earlier.

The girl had thrown away one of her bottles earlier, but there were still drinks in the bag.
