    Chapter 1659

    Chapter 1659 Time Will Tell

Matilda agreed with Sophia. “Good. Let him get his wish. See if he’ll get sick of it.”

John was justing down after he changed. He heard what Matilda said, so he replied, “Are you

talking about me? Is it about me not going to work again?”

Sophia turned around to look at him as solemnly as she could. “Oh, so you know we’d talk about that?”

John went over to take the boy back from Aurora. “I will never get sick of this. I might not be working

now, but I contribute a lot to raising him. He’s more important than thepany. You just don’t see it.”

Sophia was getting sick of the excuses. Every time this conversation was brought up, he’d have his list

of ‘reasons’ lying in wait. Nobody could win this argument.

L leaned on the couch’s armrest. “Same here. Logan never goes to the club now and just stays at

    home all day.”

Logan gasped. “I did that so I can take care of you.”

L chuckled. “My parents are with me, and we have a nanny as well. I don’t need you. Honestly, I

wish you would do your own stuff.”

Logan was more straightforward than John was. “No. I have more money than I can ever imagine.

Staying at home rocks, so why should I tire myself out with work?”

Sophiaughed and looked at John. “You can learn a thing or two from Logan. Be honest. We can

understand you. Aren’t you tired of your own excuses?”

John was pacing back and forth beside the couch with the baby in his arms. “Nonsense. I’m not him.”

That annoyed Logan a little. “Yeah, yeah. Keep lying. I know what you’re thinking. You’re using your

son as an excuse so you don’t have to work.” He told the boy, “Look at your dad. What a loser.”

John nced at Logan and sneered.

Cindy pursed her lips. She didn’t know any of his friends, nor how they usually behaved. Naturally, all

she could do was keep quiet as they talked.

Ian noticed her unease. He hesitated for a moment there and had an intense internal struggle about

whether he should do it or not. In the end, he extended his arm and held Cindy’s hand.

Cindy was shocked and petrified by the sudden handholding, but she realized what he was trying to do,

so she didn’t struggle. She did turn red though.

Aurora noticed that, of course, so she smiled.

Back to the little banter. L caressed her belly and shot back at Logan, “You’re the same, you know,

    so shut up.”

Logan would never go against his wife. “Yes, yes. Of course.”

Sophiaughed. “I never thought that Logan was someone who would be scared of his wife.” She

looked at L. “He used to be a big thug who’d get rid of everyone who crossed him. Now? Now he’s a

    changed man.”

Lughed as well. “Honestly, when I first met him, I thought, ‘Wow, if this guy gets a girlfriend, it’d be

hell for that girl.’” She looked at Logan and keptughing. “I thought, ‘Honestly, who’d date him? She

would be blind to go out with someone like this.’”

Everyone burst intoughter, while L said, “Guess we all know who’s the blind one now. Me, that’s

who. Guess you should never jump to any conclusions. You never know when you’ll be proven wrong.”

For some reason, what L said made Ian think about himself. Yeah, you can’t be too sure about

anything. Sometimes you’ll be proven wrong the next second.
