Chapter 1588
Chapter 1588 Aurora’s Visit
As Naomi had no idea what happened between her and Ian, Cindy decided to act as though nothing
happened and ask casually, “What is it? I was away from my phone yesterday because I had a
headache and went to bed early.”
Naomi sighed. “It’s a good thing that you didn’t check your phone. All sorts of rumors are on the
Inte now. I don’t have anything important to tell you, actually, and I just called to check on you
because I was worried that you might be affected by the news on the Inte.”
Judging from her words, Cindy reckoned that some negative news about Ian must have surfaced on
the Inte again. Instead of asking, she merely chuckled. “It’s okay, I’m feeling rather good, actually.
In fact, I rarely check the Inte nowadays. There’s no need to create a bad day for myself, really.”
Chuckling at her words, Naomi then said, “You have a really high level of ideological consciousness,
Cindy. With such a carefree mindset, you’ll definitely live a long life.”
Cindy nodded in agreement. “The first thing to do in order to live a long life is to quit the entertainment
industry.”
“That’s true,” Naomi agreed after some thought. “Usually, people with a weak personality often find
themselves tortured in the entertainment industry.”
Previously, Naomi had already heard that countless celebrities, regardless of their poprity, had more
or less experienced depression. One of the reasons was the demanding job, and another was the
pressure from the public’s criticisms.
While some things might go unnoticed when it came to regr people, it would cause a huge uproar
when it happened to celebrities, and it wasmon for their every move to be erged.
The situation was made worse by the media who liked to create big headlines by over-interpreting the
celebrities’ words and actions. As a result, the celebrities had to live each day in fear.
After a long period of time, it was not surprising if they started having psychological problems. Although
they could make money easily, they were sometimes quite pitiful.
As they chatted, Naomi had reached herpany as well, and after they spoke briefly about the news
on the Inte, she changed the topic and talked about her work. Since Cindy didn’t read the news
online, she thought that it would be better if she didn’t bring up those things. Speaking about her job,
she told Cindy that she hadpleted her task rather well on her business trip this time, and her
superior was very pleased with her. If everything went smoothly, she might be able to be a team leader
after the year-end review.
“Congrattions,” Cindy said, smiling. “I’m really envious of you.”
Working in a designpany, Naomi was currently an assistant for a designer she was assigned to.
Even though she was only tasked to do odd jobs, she could still umte some experience for the
preparation of her own future. In contrast, Cindy was doing somethingpletely unrted to her
original profession.
However, Naomi knew nothing about her disgruntlement, and she giggled happily. “Oh, shut it. You
have no idea how many people are envious of you. Although you gave up your initial profession, you’re
leading a much better life than any of us now. I would like to find a guy like Ian who could support me
financially, and I would be more than willing to give up my current job.”

See? Cindy thought. Everyone can only see how well others are doing, but not their problems.
Sometimes, it’s really hard topare some things. She sighed silently and said, “I hope that you’ll find
your ideal man soon.”

“Thanks, and I hope that your wordse true soon!” Naomi thanked her with a chuckle.
Cindy wasn’t up for chatting anymore, so she simply told her that she was busy and hung up. With
quick steps, she trotted toward her hotel and happened to see Aurora stepping out of a cab when she
reached.
Upon seeing her, Aurora seemed relieved and she rushed over to hold her hand. “Cindy, no matter how
bad the argument was, you shouldn’t have left in the night. It’s dangerous.”
Feeling ufortable, Cindy withdrew her hand. “Let’s talk inside.”
Both of them went into Cindy’s room, and once they were inside, Aurora couldn’t help but say, “I went
over to Ian’s ce this morning and saw him on the couch alone. From just one look, I could tell that he
didn’t sleep a winkst night, and I knew that something must have happened between the both of you.
But no matter how I asked him about it, he wouldn’t tell me what exactly happened, and all he said was
that you leftst night. You have no idea how worried I was! It’s dangerous for ady to be out alone in
the middle of the night.”
