    knew Lorraine back when she arrested Logan over his club operations. She was always the one who bailed him out, though Lorraine didn’t


    remember her. When L saw the otherdy, she forced a smile and greeted her. “Hi.”


    Lorraine held her hand and patted it. “Oh, you’re finally here! We’re all waiting for you.”


    All the Jeffersondies were already inside, and Logan’s father was wearing a red robe while sitting in the center of the living room, looking


    solemn.


    For some reason, L was reminded of Logan’s visit to her house. Her father told his tales loudly and kept drinking with Logan, which was


    totally different from the Jeffersons. L had gone to big residences during her days in the force, but she still felt nervous standing in the

    Lorraine dragged her to the sofa. Surprisingly, she was even more of a chatterbox than Logan was, and she introduced her to her father and her


    sisters.


    Apparently, Old Mr. Jefferson liked L. Well, as long as Logan got himself a girlfriend, he’d like them all the same.


    The otherdies didn’t pester L about anything, for they didn’t want to scare her away, since it wasn’t every day Logan could get a


    girlfriend. All they did was ask her about her job and whether Logan was annoying her. “Tell us if he’s been pestering you. We’ll rip a new


    one on him.”


    Logan sat beside L, looking delighted. “You guys are underestimating her. If I annoy her, she’d kick my arse.


    ” “D*mn right she should.” Logan’s father pointed at him as he spoke. “I could have lived to two hundred, but this brat managed to cut it in


    half by annoying the crap out of me. Do you know how long I’ve waited for someone who can keep him in check toe along? Kick his


    arse whenever you can.” Old Mr. Jefferson was quite funny, and L started losing a bit of the tension. Lt, the oldest of the sisters, looked


    at L. “We’ve been spoiling Logan all these years, and he turned out to be a brat. But since we’re getting busier, we don’t have time to teach


    him a lesson, so do it for us. You don’t have to feel nervous. Just do what you have to. We’ll support you for sure.” Logan looked at L.


    “See? I told you I’m adopted. Even if I’m not, I bet I’m just here so my sisters can beat the heck out of me.” A smile appeared on L’s lips.


    Now, she thought the Jeffersons were different from the other rich families she came across; at least they were sincere and didn’t look down


    on her. After a while, the servant came out of the kitchen and announced that dinner was ready. Thedies quickly took L toward the dining


    room. “We don’t know what you like, so we did it ording to our tastes. Tell us what your favorite food is, and we’ll make it the next time


    you’re here.” L quickly replied, “I’m not picky, so everything’s fine by me.” .
