Chapter 2237
When Jefferson let out a sigh, it made everyone somewhat grimace in regret.
Lady Dunn hurriedly pinched him on the waist and chided in a low voice, "Shush! Stop rubbing it in!
Hurry and get in to get ready for dinner!"
Jefferson sighed and said, "Well, Helen is so big now. She is more open-minded than we are. I''m
also just stating my opinion. You don''t have to be too discreet about it."
Helen nodded and said seriously, "That’s right, Mom. I''m not angry or sad at all. You don''t have to
be so sensitive."
Lady Dunn was shocked. "Helen, you’re truly not angry at Sheldon for keeping this secret from you
for so many years?"
Helen said earnestly, "Nope, I''m not angry. Instead, I feel relieved."
Jeffersonughed. "Wonderful! I''m happy to know that you''ve moved on! Frankly speaking, I''ve
always felt that you''ve been unhappy over the years. Now that you''ve moved on, I''m heartily happy
for you."
Helen nodded with a smile. "Thanks, Father!"

Jeffersonughed out loud and beckoned, "Let''s go!
The hot pot is waiting for us! Harlem, you and your brothers will drink with meter!"
Harlem Dunn, Jefferson’s eldest son, nodded and said without hesitation, "Alright, Father! The three
of us will have a few rounds with you tonight!" 2
Harper Dunn, Helen’s eldest sister, ughed and said," Father, is there any wine at home? We three
sisters can drink with you too!" 2
Harmony chuckled and said, "That''s awesome! Dad, I''ll drink with you along with Helen and
Harper!"
Jefferson grinned from ear to ear and said delightedly, "Okay! Since you three sisters couldn''te
home on New Year''s Eve, let’s consider tonight as New Year’s Eve!"
Harmony protested, "Dad, we wanted to visit you on New Year’s Eve, but you wouldn''t let us..."
Jefferson said sternly, "You are now the daughter-inw of the Sanders family. You should spend
New Year''s Eve with your inws. Your two sisters are also the same. This is the rule. Your three
brothers came home for New Year''s Eve. If you three sisters also came home, people will say that
I''m ignorant and selfish." 3
Harmony quickly said, "I know, Dad. I''ve made a deal with Simon toe back and spend New
Year''s Eve with you next year."
Jeffersonughed and said, "Let''s talk about itter and see what Simon''s opinion is. If he doesn''t
want to,
you shouldn’t force him."
With that, the Dunn family''s three sons and three daughters walked to the dining hall with their
parents.
In the dining hall at this moment, the family''s chef had already ced the fine brass pot on the
table. The middle of the pot was filled with charcoal, and it was burning intensely. The clear broth
was boiling in the pot. The table was full of various kinds ofmb meat cuts. 2
The authentic Eastcliff citizens were very particr about eating mutton. They didn''t eat the mutton
rolls that had been shaved using machines that were sold i n the hot pot restaurants. They only ate
the fresh hand -sliced mutton.
Hand-sliced mutton was basically another course of perfection. There were various names for
different parts of themb, such as best end, loin, middle neck, chump, leg, and so on.
Different parts of meat required different cuts with different sizes and thicknesses. 4
The Dunn family seldom showed off their wealth and lived a life of modesty and humility, but they
were very sophisticated and particr. Their concern was not the ambiance nor the price, but rather
the taste and essence.
For example, the Dunn family was very particr about food.
They would not be fed up with eating the same burritos from the same shop for a decade, but once
they switched to another seller with slightly poorer cooking skills, they would find it hard to swallow
even if the difference was minimal. 3
Jefferson had no bad habit in his life except for his fanciness in smoking. He especially loved to
smoke a cigarette brand that was produced in the South Region factory.
