Chapter 2027
Loreen really wanted to look into the actual rtionship between Charlie and Doris.
However, it was impossible to do so due to time constraints. 1
She needed to rush off to Eastcliff and spend time with her family during the New Year. Therefore,
after staying for about ten minutes, Loreen turned to both ire and Charlie and said, "ire,
Charlie, I have to g o now and head over to the airport for my flight. All the flights to Eastcliff are
completely booked today. If I miss this flight, I would be spending the New Year here in Aurous Hill."
i
ire replied, "Loreen, do you want us to send you off a t the airport?"
Loreen hurriedly said, "You don''t have to trouble yourselves. All of you should just stay here." 2
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned to Doris and greeted, "Miss Young, I shall take my
leave now."
With a gentle nod, Doris replied, "Have a safe flight! Also, Happy New Year in advance!" 1
"Thank you!" Loreen nodded. After bidding farewell to ire''s parents, only then did she turn to
Dn, who was with a sullen expression on his face, and left together. 3
As they stepped out of the door, Dn could no longer suppress his depressed emotions. He let out
a cry all o f a sudden as he said, "Loreen, this Charlie is just too much! You saw it too, since the
moment I walked in through the door, I did not trigger him, nor did I provoke him. I didn''t even dare
to confront him with any rebuttal at all. I didn''t expect him to let Wrigley extend my punishment
period by a year! He even told me that I did something and made him unhappy. Why don''t you
judge this for me! Why is there a person like this!" 1
Loreen let out a sigh as she said, "Dn, I suspect the reason Charlie dislikes you was because of
your lovey-dovey attitude toward Miss Young." 1
Dn nodded and eximed, "To be frank, I too have already guessed it. I could only think of two
usible reasons for this matter: First, he was very unhappy with my behavior of picking up girls in
front him. Second, he was unhappy because of my attempt to court Doris. It must be one or the
other.” i
Loreen nodded. "I have the same opinion as well. Most probably this had something to do with Miss
Young, but I am still a little unsure of the motive behind his action. It is reasonable to say that
Charlie shouldn''t have any ties with Miss Young at all."
Dn said angrily, "I suspect there might be something going on between them!"

Loreen, naturally, could not ept such a fact, so she replied, "I don’t think the two of them could
possibly d o such a thing. After all, Charlie still wholeheartedly loves his wife."
Dn replied, "You can''t judge a book by its cover! You don’t know what kind of person Charlie is
when he''s not around us..."
As he spoke, he let out a depressed sigh and continued. "If I had known that this would happen, I
would not have followed you here! I told you that I didn’t want toe but you insisted me to follow
you here. Oh great! I am stuck in this sh*tty Aurous Hill for another two years! Isn’t this killing me?" i
Feeling ashamed and full of regrets, Doreen said," Dn, I''m so sorry. This is all my fault. I
shouldn’t have dragged you along.."
Dn wiped away his tears and replied, "Rather than just apologizing, why don''t you think of a way
to advise Charlie to pardon me as early as possible..."
Doreen hurriedly nodded and said, "Dn, don''t you worry! Once I''m back from Eastcliff, I will
definitely look for an opportunity to beg Charlie for mercy on your behalf."
She firmly continued. "After I return, I must look into the rtionship matter between Charlie and
Doris, to find out if they have any dirty little secret."
Doreen boarded the ne with a lingering suspicion and flew back to Eastcliff.
Dn had no money in his pockets and dared not cause any trouble in Aurous Hill. So, all he could
do was dejectedly return to Cliffcouls.
At the same time, that arrogant and condescending aunt of Charlie’s, Carmen, stayed in Cliffcouls
while being monitored. 1
This New Year’s Eve was going to be the worst New Year''s Eve that the two of them would ever
experience in their lifetime. 1
The same can be said for Christopher’s family.
