Chapter 1834
Since Curtis had a fiancee yet unmarried, Helen felt a ray of hope and was unwilling to give up,
hoping to marry Curtis.
This humiliation was vivid in Sheldon’s memory as the woman that he had proposed to did not only
rejected his marriage proposal but also announced publicly that she was still waiting for another
man.
Ever since then, he hated Curtis to the core of his soul.
Not long after, Curtis got married in Eastcliff.
That night, Helen cried devastatingly and then refused to leave the house for a month.
Every day, Sheldon would go to the Dunn residence with flowers to see her, and it went on for thirty-
nine days. With thirty-nine roses, he finally won Helen''s heart.
Helen, who had lost nearly twenty pounds, walked out of her room and out of the house. She said a
sentence t o Sheldon, who was holding a bouquet of roses outside the door.
She asked Sheldon if he was still willing to marry her i f she might not be able to forget Curtis for the
rest of her life.
Sheldon agreed while gritting his teeth.
And then, Helen and Sheldon got engaged quickly, and
a monthter, they got married on a whim. 2
At the beginning of the marriage life, Sheldon couldn''t sleep at ease and he had his heart in his
mouth every night. 3
He feared his wife, who was sleeping beside him, would call Curtis''s name in her dreams.
The fear soon became a reality.
Within a few days of marriage, Sheldon heard Helen whimpering Curtis''s name every day when he
drifted i n and out of his shallow sleep.
It was the most devastating moment in his life.
Not long after, their eldest son, Jaime, was born.
Only then did Helen finally shift her focus from Curtis to her son.
Since then, Sheldon was finally able to sleep soundly.
His son''s loud cries in the middle of the night even became the finest luby for him.
He could sleep peacefully in his son''s ear-deafening cry, but could not listen to his wife murmuring
Curtis’s name in her sleep because the words ''Curtis Wade'' was his nightmare! 2
Whenever he thought of all the humiliations of the past, he felt extremely angry and frustrated. 4
Even though more than two decades had passed, and Curtis had long since passed away, he still
couldn''t stomach the insult. 2
Yasin was deeply surprised to see Sheldon having a grim expression, with his fists clenched and his
teeth chattered. 2

He had worked for Sheldon for many years and knew that this expression of his usually indicated
that he was hopping mad. 1
He donned the same expression when he found out that Matsumoto Yoshito was the one behind the
kidnapping of Jaime and Sophie. 5
Yasin couldn''t help thinking, What had this Curtis Wade done that made him so angry?
Thinking of this, he asked, "Mr. Sheldon, that young man just now, does he look simr to Curtis
Wade?"
"Yes." Sheldon nodded and said, "But he has a slightly understated temperament, probably
because of his rather casual attire. Curtis was full of grandeur and charisma back then!" 3
Yasin asked again, "Could that kid be Curtis Wade''s offspring?"
"Unlikely," Sheldon said in a cold voice. "Curtis’s offspring has long since disappeared and no one
knows whether he or she is still alive. Even the Wade family themselves couldn''t locate them. I bet
he or she must be long dead out there." 4
With that said, Sheldon smiled smugly and mocked, " Back then, Curtis made a lot of enemies and
even offended the Rothschild family who was reigning in
Europe and the United States. Besides, domestically, many people picked on him and even wanted
to kill him because of his overly marvelous ability." 2
Sheldon lit a cigarette and said tly, "That kid looks quite simr to Curtis, but I think he is most
probably a Japanese and he just shares the simr facial features." 12
Yasin nodded lightly and asked, "Mr. Sheldon, where are we going next? Back to the hotel or?" 1
"No, we can''t go back to the hotel," Sheldon said in a cold voice. "If those people from the Tokyo
Police Department can''t catch Rosalie, they will definitely find a way to annoy me. It''s better for me
to leave Tokyo as soon as possible!" 3
Then, he suggested, "Just ignore the hotel room. We''ll drive directly north to Aomori Prefecture and
spend two days rxing in a hot spring before leaving Japan."
