Chapter 1827
After hearing the old master''s words, yton admitted in embarrassment, "Father, you''ve
previously talked about having an arranged marriage with Schulz family. You wanted Sophie as
Wade family''s daughter-inw, but you did not select a suitable groom."
Jeremiah chipped in, "Didn''t we agree on itst time? The son of Curtis is the best candidate."
"But Stephen previously mentioned that Curtis'' son did not want toe back to the family. I think
he might even hate us," replied yton. 2
Jeremiah waved his hand. "It''s not up to you or me to determine whether or not the kid hates us."
Caleb, who was by his side, quickly asked, "Father, are you saying you''d want to look for Curtis'' son
and ask him to return to the family?" 3
Jeremiah nodded. "Indeed. It''s on my mind, but I''m unsure how I should persuade him." s
yton suddenly felt threatened, tremendous pressure bearing down on him. He quickly
interjected, "Father, Curtis'' son has been away from home for so many years! He is uncontroble!
Please think this over!" 5
Jeremiah waved his hand in dismissal. "Stop trying to persuade me. When I asked Stephen to buy
Emgrand
Group as a gift for him, I had already decided. Sooner o rter, I would''ve to let him back into the
family.
There are not many heirs in Wade family. We are totally outnumbered, pared to the countless
branches of Schulz family, and we can''t a grown man live outside of the family any longer." 8
yton held his breath and calmly asked. "What if he i s not willing toe back, father?" 1
Jeremiah said solemnly, "People change. If he''s not willing toe back today, maybe he wille
back tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then perhaps a yearter, o r two, or three? Or maybe even ten
yearster? There will definitelye a day where he will change his mind, and his will to stay
away weakens with time."
yton, Caleb, and Chronos, who were silently listening, cursed unhappily at the back of their
minds. 5
Property of N?)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
One thing they feared most was the dissolution of the family property.
Be it ten thousand or a trillion dors, when split between one, two, or even three people, the
amount each would get at the end would be very different.
Initially, Emgrand Group''s purchase for Charlie, which had cost the family ten billion dors in
addition to a billion dors cash, had already gotten everyone riled up. 10
After all, when the old master passed away, these eleven billion dors were supposed to be split
into three equal portions for the three sons'' families when the family property division urred.
Each of them would be able to get their hands on at least three hundred million dors. Now, it
might have all gone down the drain. 7
As such, they were all anxious about Charlieing back to Wade family.
Jeremiah didn''t look at any of his sons or grandchildren; instead, he looked toward Carmen, his own
daughter. 3
He then sighed, his chest drooping heavily. "Carmen, the new year is almost here."
Carmen hurriedly got to her feet and asked, "Father, don''t hesitate to give me an order. I will do my
best to fulfill it."
Jeremiah nodded. "Can you please go to Aurous Hill tomorrow? Go look for Charlie and discuss
with him tactfully. Ask him if he''s willing toe back. If he has the heart to, then immediately invite
him over for the new year." 4
Carmen nodded. "Yes, Father. I''ll head over there tomorrow."
As she spoke, she suddenly thought of something she wanted to ask for a while. "Father, Charlie is
actually married. If he''s willing toe home, should we allow him to bring his wife back to see you
too?" 2
Jeremiah waved his hand and replied, his voice dripping with disgust. "Such a low and rugged girl
from a low-ss family, from a low-ss town. How can she evenpare to our Wade family''s
stature? If Charlie were to return, the first thing he must do is to divorce this woman. We''ll then
arrange for him to meet up with Sophie, and let''s see how it progresses from there." 7
"Alright!" Carmen nodded. "I''ll see what Charlie thinks abouting back first, before slowly raising
this n to him."
Jeremiah smiled, contented. "Then this matter shall b e entrusted to you!"
