    Chapter 401 Did It Hurt

    Josiah’s back was almost entirely a mess of raw wounds, with his upper arm and shoulder also

    Lysander had already opened the first aid kit, searching for wound treatment supplies. “Sit down:

    Josiah obediently settled down on the couch. “Are you going to take care of my wound?”


    Lysander looked up. “You think I can’t do it?”

    “I am a doctor. I’ve long been ustomed to seeing all kinds of wounds. Where is the ointment you


    had the service staff bring overst night?”


    “I’ll grab it for you..”


    Lysander gently guided him to sit back down. “Tell me where it is. I’ll go get it myself.”


    “It’s on the nightstand in the bedroom.”


    Lysander made a trip to his bedroom and sure enough, she found the ointment on his bedside table.


    She nced over a few types of medication, finding them to be fairly suitable for his condition.


    “These are prescribed by the doctor?”


    “Yeah.”


    “How did you apply the ointment on your back by yourself?”


    “I haven’t applied it yet, I was nning to do it today when Ms. Collins brought the doctor over.”


    Lysander set the medicine aside and bent over to examine the wound on his back closely. “The area of


    the wound is toorge. Anti–inmmatory medicine alone won’t do much good. It would be best to go


    to the hospital as soon as possible for an IV drip. Otherwise, if the infection doesn’t subside, it could


    lead to otherplications.”


    “Then,


    I’ll tonight. After taking you to the hospitalter, I need to make a trip to the office.”


    Lysander uncapped the bottle of disinfectant and casually remarked, “Sure, as long as you don’t mind

    “Suit yourself, then.” Lysander had prepared the cotton swab. “This disinfectant is rather harsh, and

    but I’ll try to be as quick as possible. Just bear with it.”

    Lysander began treating his wounds.


    A sharp pang of pain surged from his back.


    Josiah slightly furrowed his brows, his muscles suddenly tensing.


    Lysander could feel it, but the force she used did not lessen. The wounds needed to be thoroughly


    disinfected of all damaged tissues, so being gentle simply wouldn’t do.


    By the time all the wounds on his back werepletely disinfected, a total of three bottles of


    disinfectant had been used.


    Lysander said, “There’s no medical gauze here, so I can only do a simple bandage for now. Once we


    get to the hospital, you should head to the burn department. Let the nurses there take care of you


    properly and get you on an IV drip as soon as possible. Before the wounds are fully healed, you


    absolutely cannot get them wet. If you’re thinking about taking a bath… you might want to hold off on


    that for a while and just bear with it.”


    Josiah clenched his teeth and simply responded, “Okay.”


    He was a clean freak.


    The wounds would take quite a while to heal, and it was easy to imagine how much difort he must


    have endured these past few days.


    Lysander looked at his current injuries, even doubting whether he had secretly taken a bath that night


    in Stounia.


    “All done,” Lysander said. “Don’t wear too manyyers these days. Try to keep it airy.

    After a moment of contemtion, Josiah admitted, “It did.”


    Lysander chuckled. “I thought you’d insist it didn’t hurt.”


    “I’m only human. Of course it hurts, but.. these past few days, I’ve been living as if in a haze. Yet, it’s


    this sharp pain that makes me feel as if I’vee back to life,”
