Chapter 6
“I am his wife.” The two men in front of her were stunned, looking her up and down, “You…” “My name
is Lysander.” This time, both men were stunned. Lysander smiled and asked, “Is it not allowed to bring
family members to your ss reunion today?” “Oh, that’s not the case.” “Then I’ll go in first.” She
walked into the bar with her bag, but there were indeed a lot of people today. Josiah was the absolute
center of attention, surrounded by a crowd, chatting with various people. Lysander didn’t want to join,
so she found a secluded seat and sat down. Mirage was unusually noisy, and Josiah seemed to feel
warm. So, he took off his suit jacket and draped it over his arm. But a hand quickly took it over. “I’ll hold
it for you.” He dodged slightly, avoiding her hand. “It’s okay. I can hold it myself.” Lysanne smiled lightly
and gently said, “Look at all these people. They won’t stop until they drink you under the table today.
Give it to me. You focus on dealing with them.” Josiah hesitated for a moment but did not refuse again.
She took the suit jacket off his arm and did not put it aside, holding it in her own hands. Suddenly, she
gently tugged at his sleeve, indicating that he should lower his head. He obediently bent down slightly
to amodate her height and leaned his ear close to her lips. She whispered something in his ear,
and a glint passed through his eyes as he smiled and nodded gently at her. “Hey, what secrets are you
guys whispering about?” Lysanne, with a cheerful personality, spoke up directly, “I’ll tell you all. Josiah
is under my protection, so be careful with your words, and don’t let him drink too much.” “Oh, are you
feeling sorry for him, Lysanne?” Lysanne blushed slightly. “Oh, stop it, you big oaf.” Josiah furrowed his
brows slightly. “Don’t talk nonsense. Lysanne is already married. Can’t you see she’s pregnant?” These
ssmates seemed to be afraid of him. Once he spoke, no one dared to joke around recklessly
anymore, and they all restrained themselves. A man standing next to him then chimed in, “Alright,
enough already. Don’t talk nonsense just because you’ve had a few drinks. The friendship between
Josiah and Lysanne is unbreakable.” “Yeah, even if they were to book a hotel room together, it would
definitely be to y games together. These people are always talking nonsense.” At that moment,
Lysanne discreetly ced a wine decanter in Josiah’s hand, which was filled with a clear liquid that
looked just like white wine at first nce. But Lysander saw everything as she was standing nearby.
Taking advantage of the conversation, Lysanne had emptied the white wine from the decanter and
reced it with mineral water. Josiah cooperated tacitly with Lysanne as he quickly took the ss in
her hand and filled his wine ss while saying, “Here’s to everyone.” “Here’s to our student days!”
“Here’s to youth!” This was what a ss reunion was all about—chatting about the days of studying
and reminiscing about the silly and naive moments of the past. In the end, everyone was swaying from
drinking except for Josiah, whose face was only slightly flushed, but his mind was still clear. He
unbuttoned his cor and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt to his elbows where the deep blue sleeve
garters secured around his biceps. His slender fingers pushed up the gold-rimmed sses on his nose
with elegance and grace that made him look tall and noble. But then, he suddenly frowned slightly as
he looked around before fixing his gaze on a male ssmate not far away. He walked over and kicked
him, saying, “Put the cigarette out. Lysanne’s pregnant.” The man, with a bewildered expression in his
eyes, was stunned for a moment before realizing what was happening. And he quickly put out the
cigarette and threw it into the trash can. “Sorry, Josiah. I forgot.” Josiah red at him. “Remember for
next time.” The man quickly nodded and bowed with a smile. “Yes. Yes. I will.” “Have you ever seen
Josiah like this before?” Suddenly, a man appeared at the booth seat opposite Lysander. She didn’t
know how long he had been there. Lysander nced at him. He looks about the same age as Josiah.
He’s probably a ssmate too. He had slightly long hair and wore a pair of ck-framed sses. He
exuded a schrly air, looked very friendly, and seemed to have a good temper. “Who are you?” “My
last name is Rangel.” She thought for a minute. He’s polite and gentle. Is he the one those two
mentioned just now? “Miles Rangel?” Miles lowered his head and smiled faintly. “You know me?” “I
heard your ssmates mention you inadvertently.” Lysander said, “Why don’t you go drink with them?”
Miles waved his hand. “Josiah is there.” “What’s wrong with that?” He sighed and chuckled lightly,
“When we were studying, Lysanne pursued me.” Lysander instantly understood. He’s the guy Mom
mentioned—Josiah’s buddy. “You are Josiah’s wife, right?” “Yes.” “Josiah is really lucky to have a
beautiful and elegant wife.” Lysander smiled slightly in response without saying a word. “Josiah has
changed a lot now. When he was in school, he was so outstanding that all the boys in the school
admired him.” “Is that so?” “Maybe girls of that age like tough guys. Almost all the girls liked him.” Miles
paused, then added, “Except for Lysanne.” Lysander then said, “Lysanne likes you.” “She likes me?”
Miles chuckled self-deprecatingly as if there was more to it. “Not necessarily.” “What do you mean?” He
seemed a bit drunk as he raised his ss and ced it in front of his eyes to look at the transparent
liquid inside, “Mrs. Guerra, do you think there can be pure friendship between men and women?”Text ? by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
