    The custodian gently shook her head. “Forget it. You won’t understand even if I told you outright.


    We’ll save this for the future. I brought you here because I n to use the Demonic Lotus to


    reconstitute your physical body.”

    He looked at the darkly glowing lotus before him and asked, “You’re going to use this lotus to


    remake my physical body?”


    The custodian nodded and said, “That’s right. Earth’s ancestors managed to obtain this lotus after


    much hardship. This is part of a greater n, but I can’t tell you much about it at the moment. If I tell


    you too much at this point, it’ll end up further burdening your psyche. What I can tell you is that


    you’re about to receive a great opportunity along with good fortune.”


    She turned to look at the Demonic Lotus.


    “The lotus’ original owner was a powerful man whose strength was beyond anything you could


    imagine. Once we use the lotus to reconstitute your body, your potential will increase exponentially.”


    James had no idea what to think about the idea of arger n, but it did not matter to him as long


    as he could be resurrected.


    “Please save me, Ms. Custodian.”


    “Be patient. It’ll take some time for me to refine the lotus. During this period, you need to stay here

    James hurried over to her and looked at the ethereal woman.


    The custodian gave him a small nod and flicked her wrist. A ray of ck light shone, and a body


    appeared on the ground.


    James was dumbfounded when he saw the body.


    The man lying on the ground looked exactly like him. Its eyes were closed, and a ck light glowed


    from its body, giving it a somewhat devious air.


    “What is this, Ms. Custodian?” James questioned.


    The custodian said, “I used the Demonic Lotus to reconstruct your physical body. As long as your


    soul enters the body, you’ll be resurrected. However, I must remind you that the Demonic Lotus


    naturally contains Demonic Energy and will affect your soul as a result. It may even attempt to alter


    your soul causing you to be demonized so that you be a member of the Demon Race.”


    The custodian said solemnly, “I hope you’ll maintain your soul’s purity and remember your


    responsibilities and mission. If you cannot retain your reasoning under the Demonic Energy’s


    influence, I’ll have no choice but to kill you.”


    James pursed his lips. He thought for a while and said, “Why can’t I purify the Demonic Energy in


    this body? Since Thea can purify her Demonic Energy, I should be able to do the same, right?”


    The custodian replied, “You’re both in different predicaments. She has a Supreme Body as well as a


    Supreme Spiritual Root. Only very few people with such physiques will be born in millions of years.


    The Demonic Energy only affects their body’s purity.”


    “However, this body’s main advantage is that it is made from Demonic Energy. As such, this body’s


    potential is limitless. If you purify the Demonic Energy, then it’ll lose its inherent advantages that I’ve


    created it for. That aside, this is a Demonic Lotus, and purifying it is beyond my capabilities.”


    James seemed to follow her reasoning but was still unsure of some things.

    The custodian said, “You’ve been here for three years. The same amount of time has passed


    outside.”


    James was startled. “What?! It’s been three years? How’s everything outside?”


    The custodian replied, “Things might have taken a turn for the worse but they’ve yet to experience


    the full extent of the oing chaos.”
