Joe’s eyes carried a hint of a smile. Suddenly, he felt that if he had enough of living in Jipsburg City, he coulde here to stay for a while each year. Text ? owned by N?velDrama.Org.
Living simply with Skr here felt quitefortable.
“After dinner, let’s visit Grandma Vi’s ce. Mrs. Munoz Senior likely didn’t mistake her. Grandma Vi must havee back a few days ago,” Skr suggested. There was a trace of regret in her voice.
She should have returned a couple of days earlier. Then, they might still have gotten a chance to see Vi.
But then again, if Vi had returned a few days ago, she wondered if that meant someone had forced her to write those letters.
She hadn’t thought much about it when Alma mentioned Vi earlier. But now, as the thoughts settled in, an unsettling feeling crept over her.
The nightmares referenced in the letters were a past she wished to forget. She wondered if those letters truly indicated Vi’s intentions.
Joe noticed the quick shift in Skr’s emotions and asked, “Are you worried about Grandma Vi?”
He sensed that there was something more than just concern in her voice when she mentioned her. It felt like she was harboring a fear, and he wondered what she feared.
It seemed that both she and Alexander were deliberately concealing somethingtely. He felt that it was somehow likely rted to Vi and them.
“Grandma Vi is getting older. From what Mrs. Munoz Senior said, she’s been unwelltely. I just don’t know if she can take care of herself,” Skr admitted, genuinely concerned for Vi’s well–being.
“Don’t worry. Grandma Vi will take care of herself.” Joe reassured her.
“Yeah.”
After finishing their meal, Skr and Joe headed to Vi’s house just next door. The door was locked, but Skr had the key.
After unlocking the door and stepping inside, they found the yard had been cleaned thoroughly. It was clear that someone had been living there recently.
Skr quickly moved to open the door to the house.
Inside, the entire house was as tidy as the yard. It held many of Skr’s childhood memories. It was a two- story house, and the second floor contained many of Vi’s old belongings, all of which were locked
away.
Skr had keys that could open those locks. The second floor was spacious, and she remembered that every time she came to Vi’s house to learn how to restore antiques, she would spend her time on that floor.
“Be careful not to touch anything. Grandma Vi has set up some traps. You might get hurt if you’re not careful,” she warned.
Skr was familiar with the ce and felt at ease, but Joe had never been there before, and any careless movement could lead to injury.
Joe nodded in acknowledgment and followed closely behind Skr as they moved inside. She felt

rxed surrounded by the items she knew so well.
Skr pointed to one of the porcin and said, “I restored that when I was 15. It was my first independent restoration project. Grandma Vi told me I had a talent for it, and I was so happy that I couldn’t sleep that night.”
Joe followed her gaze, looking at the seemingly unremarkable porcin. It was almost restored to its original state. If one didn’t look closely, they wouldn’t notice any signs of previous damage.
“15 years old?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
“That’s impressive.” Joe genuinely praised her.
