    Standing beside Vera, Bianca sneered and scrutinized Skr as if she were something vile. To Bianca, Skr wasn’t even worth the time Vera was spending on her, but if Vera wanted to, she could continue.


    Skr offered a faint smile. “Are you surprised that I dined with Rowan, or that I came to the auction with Mr. Gardner Senior? You always speak so vaguely. Can you ever be more clear?”
