Chapter 674
Jenny’s eyes were filled with concern as she spoke. She showed more care for Joe than Skr did as his wife.
Joe’s expression remained as cold as ever.
The shift in the atmosphere took Paul aback. Skr remained calm and unaffected.
Gloria subtly soothed the tension in the air. With a hint of
indifference, she replied, “It’s normal to have a tough job. Skye’s work is challenging, too.”
She knew from experience that jobs requiring repetitive tasks demanded a great deal of patience and resilience.
Vi used to say that talent was just one part of the equation for someone in her line of work. What was even more important was character and endurance. Both were essential.
Jenny’s smile faltered for a moment. “Yes, Skr’s work is very demanding as well.”
She hadn’t expected Gloria to stand up for Skr so firmly, especially in Joe’s presence.
While they spoke, Paul had already set up the packed meals.
Noticing the change in atmosphere, Jenny decided to leave before
she embarrassed herself further. She made an excuse and
departed. Content (C) N?v/elDra/ma.Org.
After leaving the hospital, Jenny took a cab back to her newly decorated home. The house was decorated in all the styles she liked, reflecting Rowan’s intentions
Chapter 674
Living alone in such arge house, she felt an overwhelming sense of loneliness and istion.
She suddenly felt like an outsider, especially after witnessing
Skr’s interaction with Gloria in the hospital and seeing how Joe focus on Skr.
No matter how hard Jenny tried to integrate herself, it seemed like an unattainable goal. The feeling of being shut out stirred jealousy within her. She couldn’t understand why, after returning to
Jipsburg, Joe had distanced himself from her and embraced Skr
With no one to confide in, she thought of Rowan. She immediately dialed his number.
There was no answer.
Suddenly, she remembered that Rowan had distanced himself from her since her sessful interview. It had been days since hest reached out.
“Rowan, are you distancing yourself from me too?” Jenny
murmured to herself. She scrolled through Rowan’s Instagram and discovered his feed had been stuck on a post about his engagement. He hadn’t posted anything since then.
Their chat history ended with her asking about the house renovations, to which he had never replied.
It was as if he hadpletely ignored her. Jenny wondered if he had really given up on her. She couldn’t believe that he would truly let her go. Feeling a surge of frustration, she quickly put on her coat and went out. She took a cab to Rowan’s ce.
When she knocked on the door, someone opened the door for her.
Chapter 674
As the door swung open, Jenny stood frozen in shock. It wasn’t Rowan who opened the door. Instead, it was Rowan’s fiancée, Minerva Reid:
Minerva was wearing Rowan’s shirt. It covered everything that needed to be covered but still radiated an air of post–event allure and innocent charm.
The sight was incredibly striking.
Jenny’s face went pale. “You…”
“Are you looking for Rowan? He’s in the shower. You can wait for him inside,” Minerva said calmly and indifferently.
Seeing Minerva’s confident demeanor, Jenny suddenly recalled the time she had stayed here. Back then, Rowan had catered to her every need. He treated her with utmost care.
As it turned out, just a few short dayster, another woman was living in his home.
Minerva recognized Jenny. In their social circle, she was aware of the dynamics around Joe. She also knew that Rowan had a thing for Jenny. But it was obvious to anyone with eyes that Jenny had no interest in Rowan.
Given that Rowan was now engaged to her, their rtionship was now publicly recognized. They were considered a couple in the eyes of society. Thus, Minerva had nothing to hide or exin when it came to Jenny.
