Rufus’ POV:
I was at aplete loss. I had grown to be independent and thus didn’t know what to do now that
someone actually cared about me.
I held my mother in my arms and clumsily patted her back tofort her. “Mother, please don’t me
yourself. It’s no one’s fault. Although it’s true that I’ve suffered from this curse, it also led me to meet
the love of my life.”
My mother didn’t say anything, but her b*ody was trembling. I knew she was still crying.

“No, I have to handle this. You and your father have been looking for that damned witch for so long but
