Chapter 2 ~ The National Husband~


    IRIS''S POV~


    My legs were shaking vigorously as if I had just encountered a living ghost. Suddenly the fifteen metres


    spacious lift seemed so small to me that I felt like I was suffocating andcking of oxygen.


    I consoled myself inwardly encouraging myself,


    " Breath in, Breath out, Iris. Everything is gonna be fine. It''s just Mr President, Xavier Gray."


    Lucky he was still connected with the phone call and didn''t utter any words to me except throwing


    those eagle eyes on me ready to swallow me whole. I frowned slightly in dilemma and suddenly


    recalled that president''s office hadwork connection even inside the lift.


    But why will he appear inside my lift? Shouldn''t presidents have their personal lift?


    Confusion aroused across my puzzled mind as I shifted in my spot ufortably clutching the ironic


    phone in my palm.My phone beeped once again and I chopped Daisy into pieces inside my head.Soon


    after, he averted his eyes from me and I breathed heavenly.


    My eyes caught the dark tattoo on his neck behind as I frown admiring the smooth artwork.The head of


    the dragon was crafted over his white skin so smoothly that it appeared out like a part of his skin not


    seemed like an artificial once.But one thought that I was assured about that he was indeed damn


    handsome and deserved to be call the national husband.


    Under the white neon lights of the elevator, the straight nose of the handsome face revealed a beautiful


    silhouette. His thin lips were pursuing beautifully as he spit out each and every words wlessly and


    sometimes used English in British ent.His navy-blue suit gave off a domineering aura like a king of


    hell which was engulfing the whole air of the elevator gradually.


    Suddenly I felt that the elevator wasn''t going too fast.


    He nced behind to see my puzzled state and my eyes again met those blue eyes crystal clear


    reflecting my own silhouette into it.


    His eyes were too deep just like a bottomless vortex as if I would drown terribly into it which I didn''t


    want. At least I didn''te in that intention.


    Finally the elevator dinged as I dragged out my heavy body before him and I was Momentarily relieved


    that he was still on phone.


    I just want to vanish from his gaze within a second!


    As I took two quick steps ahead, a cold tone echoed in my eardrums as I closed my eyes shut in


    restlessness.


    Damn it.. you are dead, Iris.


    " Wait...!", Mr. President called me from behind as I turned back and found his dark face on me


    approaching slowly.


    I looked around nervously and found no one nearby as the elevator was built far away from the staff''s


    room.


    I gulped down when he cut off the phone call, stuffed the brand new iphone into his pocket and stepped


    closer near my fragile body.


    His expression seemed horrific as I nervously looked up to meet his hazel eyes.


    He asked frowning hard,


    " Who are you? Are you the secretary handled by Mr.Scott?"


    I nodded affirmatively and parted my lips to apologise but his words interrupted me first causing my


    heart beating abruptly.


    He asked pointing on the elevator coldly,


    " Are you blind? Didn''t you see the logo before entering the elevator? Such an undisciplined person. "


    My head sank as I titled my head to see the logo nkly and damn it.


    I pped myself mentally twice!


    How can you be so reckless Iris? You actually broke the rule at the first day of your work using


    President''s elevator!


    I quickly apologised before the situation goes out my hands and made a 360 degree bow,


    " I''m sorry.. I''m sorry, Mr President. I was in rush. Please punish me however you want."


    His expression sobered up a little as I noticed it from the corner of my frightened eyes. He waved his


    hand dismissively and ordered,


    " Go report yourself to Mr. Scott''s office. Remember that I don''t tolerate indisciplined people. If you


    continue being like this nonsensical human being, you will be fired before a week."


    I nodded vigorously and replied with gratitude,


    " Thank you, Mr. President. I won''t be disobedient ever."


    He hummed coldly and turned away as I heard his mumbling in a low voice,


    " That''s why I said, women are troublesome."


    I knitted my eyebrows and cursed his domineering attitude inwardly. He could have forgave me


    considering the fact that I was a newbie in his office.


    I kept my eyes focused on his retreating back and felt somehow bewildered by his charm.Two people


    wearing presidential uniform rushed towards him opening the office gate for him respectively as his


    silhouette vanished from my vision behind the ss door.


    My wrist watch suddenly beeped and my eyes went wider terribly.


    Damn it! It''s 8 A.M


    I dragged my heavy body towards a closed door where I spotted the logo Mr.Scott.I started running


    towards the door bumped into someone on the way whom I didn''t even bother to apologise.


    My mind was in haze as I pulled open the door abruptly stepping into the office panting heavily. I


    sucked some long breath and realised that I didn''t even knock!


    Damn it! Bad Day Indeed!


    I looked up nervously ready to hear another scolding but unexpectedly the man on the telephone gazed


    at me solemnly. His expression remained calm and nonchnt as I scratched my head out of


    embarrassment.


    Mr.Scott continued chatting on the telephone fluently speaking in English and asionally nced


    over me. He had a handsome face, straight nose and a strange aura of a decent man.


    My mind subconsciouslypared him with the president as I mentally cursed myself for having weird


    thoughts.


    Shortly after, he finally put down the phone and I initiated the conversation first fixing my top slightly,


    " I''m sorry, Mr. Scott. I was in bit hurry and forgot to knock the door."


    I continued faking a bright smile,


    " Hehe.. I hope you didn''t mind Mr.Scott..


    I''m.."


    My words were interrupted again and I heard his calm tone,


    " Iris Young,you are two minuteste."


    I gulped my saliva nervously and he continued getting off from his office chair seriously,


    " Miss Young, you are aware of the fact that here, we follow some strict rules for our employees.Our


    president is very punctual about works and demands everything wless. You must be heard that there


    are no female employees in our whole office including the headquarters. President doesn''t like to be


    around woman. But due to some circumstances, we needed to hire a female secretary for him.


    Mr.Cullen suggested me to hire you but you still need to pass the president. You are quite intelligent


    and cunning woman as far as my investigation says. I have high hopes from you. Just don''t disappoint


    me, Miss Young. "


    I read his expression and understood the seriousness of my work. I smiled back assuringly that I would


    give my best and he led me towards the dragon''s cave.


    I mean, the president''s office!


    Well, I found Mr. Scott very cool man. Though his words were very straightforward but I liked the way


    he said that he had a high hopes from me.


    We walked across the corridor and I found several men eyeing over me who were busy in working.Well


    not like they were drooling over me, they seemed very much surprised and curious. I offered them a


    warm smile but in return, they remained unfazed and held a robotic expression.


    I twitched my lips sarcastically and followed Mr. Scott closely like a pet cat trailing her master.


    Jeez, why are everyone so serious here!


    He stopped at the entrance and ordered me to stay out of the office until he came back. I nodded like

    XAVIER''S POV~


    Fuck!


    That''s why I find women are troublesome!


    I was having an urgent meeting with the chiefmander and entered the elevator earlier.


    It took no time for me to understand that this girl might be the secretary that Scott had hired for me.


    Honestly I was firm against it but I needed apanion for god sake.Every time I joined a party or had


    any gathering with the foreigners,it required a femalepanion.Scott used to hire some top


    celebrities for me but they annoyed me so much that I even wanted to ban them from the industry.They


    used their own body on me like a cheap slut and wanted to get into my pants which I hated the most.


    Later Scott suggested that it seemed suspicious about my sexual orientation for not having any woman


    beside me. Moreover I knew that who was the mastermind behind it.


    It must be definitely my mom''s doing. She had been persisting for a year almost to get married or find a


    girlfriend. But I really haven''t felt any attraction towards any women till now.


    I don''t know why.. may be I don''t feel or I don''t want.!


    But I would be honest to say that this girl looked different from other women that I had around me in the


    past. Her face was wearing a blooming aura when my eyes caught her sight. She looked like a fresh


    flower who was born to make everyone smile subconsciously. Though she wore a very attractive dress


    but her appearance still seemed like a child and girlish to me.


    But something tingered in my mind when I met her drawn green eyes which never urred to me


    before!


    I sighed helplessly and leaned back against the head of the chair swinging in my memories.


    Those vagueughter from my memory cracked in my eardrums like a upbeat music as I shot open my


    eyes watching Scott entering in my office.


    I frowned slightly at his way and he took somerge steps stopping in front of my desk. His


    professionalism was always top notch as I waited to hear his words.


    He started speaking coldly and reprimanded each and every words,


    " Mr. President, the Secretary has already arrived and is waiting for your approval. I believe that she


    won''t disappoint you."


    I sneered and replied straightening up my upper body,


    " Disappoint? Well, she had sessfully disappointed me. You know she had taken my elevator


    without watching the logo. You think she can take care of my whole paradise? She needs to handle the


    headquarters and mypany both. From where did you find this girl, Scott? seriously.. "


    His face shed with disappointment and Iughed inwardly over my judgment proudly. Unexpectedly


    next moment his face turned serious as he exined like aposition assuring that he shouldn''t miss


    any single details,


    " I''m seeking forgiveness on her behalf Mr President. She is still new here and doesn''t know the rules


    well. I will strictly guide her and make perfect in every aspects. Moreover if you ask about her


    educational qualification, then I can say that you won''t have any doubt over it.


    She has graduated on two different subjects at a same time from the renowned varsities around the


    world.She stillpleted some external courses over programming and game developing. She can


    drive all kinds of cars and knows more than 7nguages around the world due to her living days in


    foreign countries. She is quite ambiguous over her work and takes everything seriously what she


    intends to do. "


    He paused between his words as my face sank over her biography. Then I heard his pleading voice,


    " So I think you should give her a chance at least. In this way you can close down those rumours about


    you too. "


    Okay.. I give up..


    Scott has be professional over persuading me in this years staying by my side.


    I waved my hand dismissively and ordered briefly,


    " Let her in but she must pass my interview or else not. "


    Scott gave me anotherst bow and headed outside quickly.


    I rolled my eyes and waited patiently to meet the strange girl keeping my sharpened eyes on the


    entrance!
