Chapter 14: Visiting parents
We walked out the shop and walked towards the car. I opened the door.
"These costumes are gorgeous." I said.
"They are." she smiled.
We arrived at my previous pack houses and dropped Jessica off.
"Bye Jessica, I need to visit my parents." I smiled.
"Bye." she closed the car door.
I rode down the street to my old house. I climbed out the car and walked towards the door. I knocked
and my mom came walking towards the door.
"Danielle!!" my mom pulled me into a hug. I hugged her back.
"What are you doing here? Where''s Grayson?" She asked.
"I just dropped off Jessica and thought I''d stop by. Grayson is doing some guy shopping." I bit my lip.
"Come say hi to your dad." she gestured for me toe inside.
"Where is dad?"
"He''s in his office. He hasn''te out for a couple of days. He''s been really stressed out ever since
you moved away." she said sadly.
I walked to my dad''s office and opened the door.
"Dad?" I looked up to see my dad doing amounts of paper work. He looked up at me.
"Danielle?" He stood up and hugged me. I hugged him back tightly.
"I missed you." he said.
"I missed you too, dad." I smiled
"How have you been?" He asked.
"I''ve actually been really good. How have you been?" I asked my dad, concerned.
"I''ve been stressed out. There''s been attacks all across our borders. A few of our warriors have been
killed." He said sadly.
"How have they been killed?" I asked.
"They''ve been tortured, carved and hung... almost like a sacrifice."
"Sacrifice?" I asked.
"Yes, sacrifice. Like a sacrifice to Satan."
"That''s terrible." I said.
"Yes. Already 12 of our best warriors have been sacrificed."
"I''m so sorry, dad." I said in sympathy.
"Have you seen how they look?" I asked.
"No, but we''ve heard howling like a wolf and roaring like a bear."
"I can help." I smiled.
"No, you won''t. You''re extremely precious to us, if anything had to happen and you get killed, I would
me myself forever." he said sadly.

"But dad-" he cut me off.
"No Danielle. We will be fine." He smiled, reassuring me.
"Okay, well I have to go." I hugged my father and walked out the office.
"Bye mom." I hugged her and walked out. I sat in the car and decided to check my texts.
"I''m at home."
"OK."
"Why so sad?"
"I''m fine."
"Don''t lie to me, kitten."
"I''ll talk to you when I get home."
"OK."
