Alice hissed, "I can''t believe Grandma woke up this early."
Kendall asked in concern, "How''s Dn doing?"
"You have to go back, madam. The other madams and masters are gathering as well. And more were
on their way when I came. They said Old Madam Coleman wanted them here all of a sudden." To

confession was all his doing. I have no control over him." She didn''t want Frank to be obsessed with
her, but there was nothing she could do to stop him.
Alice couldn''te up with an answer. Kendall was speaking the truth. Tilly had been waiting for this
chance to kick her out. She only kept Kendall around because she was useful. Now that Dn was
getting better, and the rumors about his impotence were debunked, Tilly seized the chance to chase
Kendall out the moment she had it.
