Chapter 133 Kill Shot.


    This ce had turned into a bloodbath, Kyle had escaped murder due to Mike''s excessive use of violence. He shot the unconscious man in cold blood even though there was a high chance that he would sumb to the injuries inflicted on him by Kyle. It didn''t matter now because another gunshot had echoed. Jane wasn''t going to be a bystander and grabbed the gun that had fallen from Mike''s grip.


    Mike didn''t worry much about the gun because Jane had shown her loyalty to him even though this was false. She didn''t know why Kyle told her to pull the trigger, but he must have seen something that she didn''t. But she wasn''t going to miss this time, Mike was about to kill Kyle and Jane knew she had to do something about it.


    She rushed to the gun and fired a bullet, grazing Mike''s neck in the process.


    This ruptured an artery and blood spewed all over the ce. Mike''s hand quickly retracted from Kyle''s neck and clutched his, trying his best to keep the blood. This allowed Kyle to kick him off and send him tumbling to the ground.


    He looked at Jane and saw that she was trembling, horrified by what she had done. She couldn''t believe that she had shot someone.


    The gun dropped to the ground.


    Mike backed away from them until his back hit the wall, blood gradually filling his lungs as he found it hard to breathe.


    "W-What have I done? I killed him?!" Jane was in disbelief, she knew that Mike was a bad person but this wasn''t something she pictured herself doing. Kyle picked up the gun from the ground and looked Jane in the eyes. " I won''t let you burden yourself," Kyle whispered before nting a kiss on her forehead. " I made you a promise…" Kyle said, looking right at Mike, who was clinging to dear life.


    Mike was frightened, Kyle could tell he didn''t want to die but he made his choice. And he couldn''t let Jane be wrecked by the guilt of taking a life, that was why he was here and Kyle knew that Jane would only view him as someone willing to go to such lengths for her but in reality, this was the only oue that Kyle had in mind. He was going to kill him regardless of if Jane had shot him or not. Kyle pulled the trigger, the bullet piercing Mike between the brow and killing him.


    Kyle heaved a loud sigh of relief, this episode was over and now he truly has Jane all to himself. Jane ran to him, hugging him fiercely from behind as she sobbed profusely. "I-I am sorry!" Jane apologized, ming herself for this because she had forced Kyle to take a life so she wouldn''t be burdened by the guilt of doing so herself.


    "Sorry?" Kyle questioned before turning around to look her tight in the eyes. "You saved me, Jane," Kyle reassured her with a smile, she could tell by the look in his eyes that he wasn''t just saying this to reassure her.


    He truly believed these words and this removed the weight that shackled her heart. She looked at Mike''s lifeless body with pity, she didn''t know that could have possibly made him like this but monsters have always worn the face of humans. "We should get out of here," Kyle said to which Jane agreed. This sage was over in a single night, Jane had no idea how Kyle found her so fast but she knew that not every question needed an answer. She was content not knowing because it only made her feel safer.

    E waited back home anxiously, she could feel her body tense up because the police hade a couple of hours ago.


    Suddenly, Kyle''s phone wasn''t going through but she wasn''t going to put Jane''s life in Kyle''s hands. She didn''t know much about him and wasn''t willing to gamble her friend''s life on a flimsy thing such as trust. She told the police that her friend had been taken but also made sure to inform the police that the man was dangerous. It was Prisci that answered this call and instantly recognized her from the hospital. She had questioned them but also knew that Kyle wasn''t telling her everything.


    She could sense it but it wasn''t in her jurisdiction to push him for more information as he was the victim. However, she knew that these two events were connected because it couldn''t be a coincidence that Jane went missing in the space of a week.


    And the man who took her must be responsible for the attack on Kyle. There was a chance he threatened Kyle that he would farm thesedies if he spoke prompting Kyle to keep his mouth shut. That was the conclusion that Prisci came to because she had interrogated multiple people in this same predicament.


    They followed a simr script but the limited information E gave her helped with this. E didn''t speak about Kyle''s involvement or how Mike might be connected to the attacks.


    Prisci made this connection herself and knew that she needed to make E feel safe. This was why she decided to remain stationed outside of her ce but under such short notice.


    There was no way that anyone woulde to this location to watch over the house.


    Kane reached out to E to inform her that she was safe, E screamed at the top of her lungs forcing Prisci out of her car as she rushed towards the house to see if E was in danger.


    But that wasn''t the case, E received confirmation that her best friend was alive.


    Prisci didn''t even get to the door before her phone rang, it was Kyle and on that phone call, he told her everything.


    However, he mixed in a few lies by saying Mike had threatened to harm the girls if he told the police what had happened so he had no choice but to keep quiet.


    This was a narrative that Prisci already entertained so confirming that this was indeed the case fed her ego.


    Kyle also told her where to find Mike or rather his corpse and Prisci was on the move right away with her siren ring in the distance.
