Chapter 696: Chapter 695: Davy Bat Begging for Mercy
Hearing Ethan Smith’s words, rissa Johnson fell into silence.
“If you can’t do it, it’s not a big deal,” Ethan stood up and said.
“I also hope that the Halcroen Sect won’t bother me any more from now on. Let’s not get in each other’s way,” he said.
Having said that, Ethan was about to leave.
But rissa stopped Ethan.
“Fine. I agree,” she said solemnly.
Ethan raised an eyebrow, “If you can really find Emily Taylor, I’ll agree.”
rissa smiled, “In order to win Mr. Smith’s approval, we’ll definitely do our best.”
Ethan didn’t say anything more and turned to leave.
At this moment, rissa intercepted Ethan once again.
“What else do you want?” Ethan asked.
rissa smiled lightly, “If I’m not mistaken, you’re now agonizing over how to deal with the Capital City Martial Arts Association because you can’t find a ce to hide, right?”
“Yes,” Ethan replied.
“I can give you a suggestion,” rissa continued.
Ethan looked at rissa in anticipation of her next words.
“Move your sect to the Immortal ying Sect,” she suggested.
This surprised Ethan.
It was indeed a good idea.
The doors of the Immortal ying Sect were shut so tight that no one could open them. Plus, the Capital City Martial Arts Association were rather apprehensive about the Immortal ying Sect. This was indeed a good ce to hide.
However, Ethan soon dismissed this idea.
Shaking his head, he said, “Firstly, the doors of the Immortal ying Sect are closed. I can’t get in.”
“Secondly, the Immortal ying Sect is under the sea, a ce immensely dangerous with rampant murderous intentions. I might be able to withstand it, but it doesn’t mean everyone can.”
rissaughed, “It’s exactly because of this that you can use it to keep safe.”
“As for how to get in, I may be able to help you figure it out. But of course, that’s something to consider after our coboration,” she proposed.
Ethanughed scornfully. He did not respond to rissa’s words and turned to leave the ce.
The next day was the day Ethan and the Capital City Martial Arts Association had agreed upon.
At dawn, Ethan made a call to Emerson Holmes to probe his intentions.
The voice at the end of the line was stern, “The stance of the Capital City Martial Arts Association is very clear, we absolutely won’t let Emily Taylor go.”
Upon hearing this, Ethan couldn’t help but let out a coldugh, “Good, then I’ll give them a big gift.”
Saying this, Ethan immediately hung up the phone.
Although he had anticipated that the Capital City Martial Arts Association would not agree, he found it hard to restrain the anger surging within him.
“Then it’s a fight to the death,” he said coldly.

Then, Ethan turned his steps towards the basement.
He grasped the cage that imprisoned Davy Bat and shoved him into the car.
At the same time, he instructed Vernon Sherman and Hadwin Webster to personally guard Bat, preventing any chance of escape.
“What are you doing?” Bat asked, trembling with fear.
Ethan nced at Bat and chuckled coldly, “Your association has forsaken you. Now it’s time to keep my promise.”
Bat’s face changed drastically. “Ethan, don’t be reckless. I think we should talk!” he protested anxiously.
“There’s nothing to talk about,” Ethan retorted coldly, starting the car simultaneously.
Bat was inplete panic, realising he was really facing death, he was terrified!
His mind was racing, trying toe up with any possible countermeasures.
“Ethan, I know many secrets of the Capital City Martial Arts Association. If you spare me, I can tell you everything!” Bat shouted in desperation.
Upon hearing these words, Ethan was indeed intrigued.
As the chairman of the association for many years, Bat certainly knew more about the Capital City Martial Arts Association than Emerson Holmes did.
So, Ethan parked the car at the side, smirked and said, “I admit, you’ve got my attention now.”
Hearing this, Bat sighed in relief.
Afterwards, Bat said, “Just ask anything you want to know, as long as I’m aware of it, I’ll tell you everything.”
Ethan looked at Bat and asked in a deep voice, “Who are the higher-ups behind you, and what kind of cultivation they possess?”
Hearing this, Bat had no choice but to shake his head, “I honestly have no idea, they’ve been present since I joined.”
“So by your ount, they’ve been around for many years? Which means they are not much younger than you,” Ethan spoke in a deep voice.
Bat nodded immediately, “Yes, ording to my judgement, these eight higher-ups have not changed all these years.”
“In terms of cultivation, their level is definitely above mine. It’s very possible they have entered Martial Saint Realm.”
Ethan’s expression changed slightly.
So, the Capital City Martial Arts Association indeed had a Martial Saint.
“These people may be relics from the previous era,” Bat continued.
Ethan fell silent for a moment, then asked further, “Is it true that the Capital City Martial Arts Association has captured a Martial Saint?”
“Correct!” Bat didn’t hide anything!
Hearing this, Ethan scoffed, “The Capital City Martial Arts Association is so powerful, then why do they bow down to Kn Taylor?”
Bat gave a bitter smile, “As you said yourself, I’m just a pawn. Moreover, in this era, martial artists have long been forgotten.”
“Otherwise, why do you think the eight higher-ups are willing to hide in the shadows? I don’t think anyone would want to spend decades, even centuries in hiding.”
Ethan nodded in silence.
This was indeed the truth; martial artists are after all a small group. Out of tens of thousands of people, it was rare to see a martial artist.
Only because the cultivation requirements for martial artists were much higher.
In this era, resources avable for cultivation are extremely limited, hence, martial artists depend on top-grade herbs for cultivation.
And each of these top-grade herbs came at a staggeringly high cost, far beyond what average people could afford.
“There’s one more question,” Ethan continued.
“As far as I remember, I don’t have any grudges with the Capital City Martial Arts Association, then why do they repeatedly attempt to kill me?” Ethan Thompson looked coldly at Bat.
Upon hearing this, Bat fell silent.
After pondering for a while, he said, “This was also a directive passed down from the higher-ups. They are allegedly…afraid that you will pose a threat to the existence of the association.”
“Bullshit, I was just a nobody back then, I was not worth the higher-ups’ attention,” Ethan scoffed.
Bat agreed, “You’re right. Not to mention the higher-ups, even I didn’t think highly of you at first.”
“But for some reason, the higher-ups were extremely cautious about how they handled you. Apparently, it’s because you bear some resemnce to a person from decades ago.”
Ethan furrowed his brow, “A person from decades ago?”
Bat replied, “I have heard of a great war that took ce many years ago, a person single-handedly killed dozens of Martial Saints from the Capital City Martial Arts Association.”
“Killed dozens of Martial Saints?” Ethan couldn’t help drawing a cold breath.
Bat said, “Yes, but that’s just a legend, I’ve never seen it myself.”
Ethan fell silent, lost in thought.
Could it be…that man was Ethan’s father?
With this thought in mind, Ethan looked at Bat anxiously, “What did that man look like? What happened to him in the end?”
