Purified mana collects underground over centuries, slowly condensing into something that eventually becomes a sentient rock. A very, very, dumb rock. That’s why so many dungeons are under the control of the civilized races — they’re one-trick ponies.That’s also why control of dungeon cores is so strictly regulated.
