    Lin Xinyan lowered her head and remained silent as she was stunned after hearing what Yuxiu said.


    She didn’t take it seriously when he said that he had ended his engagement. She never thought that he


    really did it.


    “After he returned from Country A, his father was furious as he wanted to break off the engagement.


    They had bitter quarrels for a lot of time, and so their rtionship went sour since then.”


    Yuxiu was dismayed too whenever she recalled her rtionship with Zong Jinghao.

    said that she had no feelings for him.

    Yuxiu wanted to say something, but changed the subject and said, “Since his mother passed away

    “Let’s go.” Yuxiu told driver gently.


    “Yes, ma’am.” The driver soon drove the car away.


    Lin Xinyan stood at the roadside and watched as the car left. She felt that she couldn’t really


    understand Yuxiu.


    She knew from Aunt Yu that the rtionship between Zong Jinghao and her wasn’t good.


    She thought that Zong Jinghao’s stepmother would be like Shen Xiuqing, a woman who was good-


    looking but wicked.


    But after talking to her, she felt that the woman was entirely different.


    She was polite, elegant and totally different from those coquettish women.

    She virtually upended her impression of a mistress.


    “Ms. Lin.” Qin Ya walked out from the shop. She stood beside her and asked her curiously, “Why did


    she want to meet you?”


    If it wasn’t for the fact that Zong Jinghao was so determined, the engagement would remain intact, and
