Their lighthearted banter was abruptly halted by Ducal, who brought urgent news from Coelus''s corpse''s site. The second group that had ventured into the Energy Assimtion Array had justpleted their turn, a development of significant importance.
The first group, having sessfullypleted their adjustment phase after exiting the array, was fully prepared to return to the surface, marking a significant step in Kyran''s n to improve his people''s overall strength.
Aillos ordered the first group''s return to the pce and had Nothum escort them to their new abode. Initially, they were to return to Ames''s mansion, but since the Regis Family was now officially recognized as part of the n, there was no longer a need to have all of them hide in her ce. Besides, having them stay there was no longer practical because of their number.
However, Aillos wanted them to stay near Ames''s mansion and arranged for their residence near hers. Since the Regis''s existence was hidden from the rest of the tribes'' representatives, none of the annexes andplexes near her mansion were upied. Thus, finding a good ce for them to stay was easy.
With Nothum on top of things, the first group that entered the Energy Assimtion Array was escorted from Coelus''s corpse''s site back to the surface in the main pce. Meanwhile, Rae and some of Ducal''s subordinates assisted the second group that had just exited the array as they adjusted to their newly acquired strength.
After Ducalpleted his report about underground matters, he meaningfully examined Aillos before proceeding with his next subject. With a serious look, he said, "We received word from Lady Ames."
Aillos''s and Kyran''s expressions turned solemn as they waited for Ducal to continue.
"She is currently en route back to the ne and may bete for the banquet. However, she confirmed her errand ended with promising results."
"Promising, huh?" Aillos smiled wryly before looking at Kyran. "What do you think?"
"It''s better than getting no results," Kyran replied thoughtfully.
Ames had now shown her face to anyone because she had left for an errand. Aillos knew there were prying eyes outside the ne, so he got Kyran to create routes— simr to portals from Junction Port— that allowed travel outside their ne to another without being seen.
Kyran seemed to have the same idea and agreed with Aillos''s request. There was no need to create several portals. What was important was where the other end of the portal connected to. This was where the secret alliance between the Regis Family and the Ogen n came into y.
Aillos had not revealed the alliance to the Dragon n because, technically, the Ogen n was allied with Kyran''s people. Even if the Regis Family was now recognized as an official member of the Dragon n, their allies and assets remained separate.
Of course, that was not to say that the Dragon n and Ogen n would not be allies. For now, their rtionship would fall under ''business connection'' until Aillos and Oceanus found an opportunity to meet naturally and happened to discuss an alliance.
That was a matter for another time, though.
In any case, Kyran created a route from the Dragon ne to the Ogen ne.
Such a route would have been impossible to create, but with Kyran''s Void magic, there were no issues with the distance or ipatibility of the environment to deal with.
For the record, the environmentalpatibility of portals was connected to the primary energy source of a ne. A portal created on a ne where the dominant magic energy was Earth would require simr energy up to the other end of its route. It was for this reason that creating portals was impossible to do among nes.
However, one could make it if both nes had simr primary energy sources.
That was why the Junction Port was created on an artificial ne. Since artificial nes did not have a specific type of energy source, portals created there would not have any problem adapting to the portal''s primary energy source.
The Dragon ne''s primary energy source was Draconic magic. Thus, a portal created there generally worked in the same magic energy. This also meant that the other end of the portal should be connected to a ne that used Draconic magic as its primary source.
Ogen ne''s primary energy source, however, was Water magic. For this reason, it should be impossible for a portal connected to the Dragon ne to have been created.
Kyran''s Void magic removed that restriction. In fact, he could have also used Chaos magic as the portal''s primary energy source, and it would not have had any problem connecting to a portal that used Water magic as its energy source since Chaos magic was the parent of all elements.
Unfortunately, Kyran''s control over Chaos was still limited and could even be considered unstable. Thus, he could notbine it with Void magic yet. He did try some tests when he was in Somuli, and the result made Cyneah almost go into one of her rare dark moods. Kyran ended up in a terrible state, and she exuded a very ominous aura while healing him. She did not openly scold him, though.
But he admitted not wanting to subject her to that again; otherwise, she might heal him to make him suffer again.
It sounded contradicting, but that was how Kyran felt about Cyneah''s mood then. He might be wrong, but he could never really say.
Going back on Ames''s errand, she used the portal to leave the Dragon ne without being detected by the prying eyes outside. As for her errand''s destination, it was the rebel''s hideout.
Raelia informed Ames about the rebel group''s movement when they met in a ''staged'' fight in the Lower Realm. Ames checked on the rebel group''s hideout when she returned to the Higher Realm. Unfortunately, they had already left after being discovered by another group from The Emperor''s Elites.
Fortunately, Raelia''s unexpected visit allowed her to give Ames new information about the rebels. When Ames told Aillos about the information this time, he let her leave as soon as possible.
With Kyran''s portal, Ames managed to locate the rebel''s new hideout and attempt a negotiation. Ames disguised herself throughout the initial meeting, and the rebel representative who met her did not mind because he, too, was in disguise.
ording to Ames''s message, she established a connection with a mid-level rebel group. She had yet to meet with the head of that group, but from what she gleaned from the initial meeting with the rebel representative, the leader of that mid-level rebel group was an executive of the rebels.
Ames''s errand could indeed be considered a promising result.
"I suppose we''ll just have to ept it and think of how we can achieve our intended result moving forward," Aillos said, bringing Kyran out of his reverie.
"Yes," Ducal agreed with Aillos''s words.
"Did she say when the second meeting will take ce?"
"No. I guess she did not want to reveal too much in case her message got intercepted."
Kyran smiled bitterly at Ducal''s reply and could not help butment, "I''d like to meet the person who can intercept a message from mymunication device."
"Such arrogance," Ducal snorted. However, he did not say that out of spite. There was even a slight endearing tone to his voice.
"Alright," Aillos said and stood up from his seat. "Tonight''s banquet marks the end of the Grand Gathering. However, as discussed earlier, apart from tribe leaders that have some business in their tribes, the rest will remain in the pce until the training camp."
During the end of the closed-door meeting, it was agreed that the tribes would assist in organizing therge-scale training camp. They would send messages to their respective tribes and gather the rest of their members to participate in the training. Moreover, they would also busy themselves with the tasks that Aillos assigned them while staying in the pce.
"Transmission Arrays will be created to agreed points all over the ne to ensure quick passage of the n members from their tribes to the main pce," Ducal confirmed. "The Array Saints in charge of this will assemble andplete it first thing in the morning."
"Good. Eldir''s request is also a top priority. Make sure to prepare it so his people can start the production of armor and weapons upon their arrival."n/?/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"Yes."
"Speaking of which," Aillos turned his gaze at Kyran. "Are you sure you can amodate Eldir''s request? You already have your hands full withpleting Anahita''s technique and creating the array for my ascension. It''s not like you know how to multiply yourself."
Aillos''s light jab at Kyran''s inability to create an essence hit a nerve, but thetter gave the former a deadpan look and said, "I''ll be fine."
"If you''re nning on exploiting Sisi''s abilities..." Aillos started with a warning tone.
"I won''t," Kyran replied almost immediately. He was not even going to engage in a battle, so why was Sisi''s ability suddenly mentioned here? "
"It may only be my imagination, but you must look after her. It is faint, but I sense her displeasure during your first session with Anahita."
"..."
Kyran did not need Aillos to remind him about that. Cyneah did not act out of the ordinary that night, but he sensed she was trying to rein in her emotions. She spoke to him usually, or at least it appeared that way, but something about her smile and tone seemed off to him.
"I will," Kyran replied after a short pause.
