Chapter 442
Chapter 442 Redefining Her Rtionship with Him
Word spread that Maggie had arrived, and Jersey responded with three words.
“Tell her to get out of here!”
“Yes!”
His subordinates exited the ward, closed the door, and exined to Maggie, “I’m sorry, Ms. Taylor. Mr.
Bowman doesn’t want to see you! Please go back!”
His subordinates were rtively polite, but even through the door, Maggie had heard Jersey roaring at
her inside, telling her to leave.
The sound was more painful than a knife cutting through her heart. Maggie felt like she couldn’t breathe
from the pain, but she forced back her tears and said, “Okay, I’ll leave. But I prepared the food for him.
Can you please give it to him?”
“Take it back with you. Mr. Bowman won’t want it.”
The subordinates followed Jersey’s orders and didn’t allow Maggie to enter the room, nor did they
ept any of her offerings.
Maggie had no choice but to leave with the thermos in her hand. As she turned around silently, tears
uncontrobly streamed down her face.
But soon, she wiped away her tears. Cecelia was right. She needed to use actions to melt her son’s
cold heart. If one attempt didn’t work, she could try again until he gave her a chance.
Since he refused to see her today, she woulde back tomorrow!
“Are you giving up like this?”
A clear and beautiful voice came from afar, and Maggie looked up to see Cecelia walking elegantly
towards her.
“Cecelia, you finally came! I… I can’t enter the room. He refuses to see me!”
Meeting Cecelia in the hallway was like a lost person suddenly seeing the North Star.
Seeing Maggie’s reddened eyes, Cecelia knew she had cried. She reached out her hand and said,
“Give me the food. I’ll go and find him.”
“Okay, thank you so much.”
Maggie handed Cecelia the thermos, her eyes filled with earnest hope. Cecelia was now the only
person she could rely on.
Cecelia nodded, carrying the thermos as she walked towards the ward. The bodyguards at the door
saw her and respectfully greeted her, “Miss Linsey!”
Their voices were loud enough for Jersey inside to hear. When he heard the words “Miss Linsey”, he
became instantly excited.
Was Cecelia here?
She finally came to see him!
Cecelia entered the room and saw Jersey trying to sit up. “Don’t move around and lie back down.”
“Cecelia…”
“Do you feel better?”
“I’m feeling a bit better.”
Jerseyy back on the bed, staring at her without blinking, afraid that she would disappear if he
blinked.
Cecelia ced the thermos on the bedside table and asked, “Are you hungry? Do you want to eat
something?”
“Okay.”
He thought Cecelia had made something delicious, so he nodded in agreement.
Cecelia raised the bedside table and opened the small tray, taking out the food. She poured out the
fragrant chicken soup that had been simmered at the bottom of the thermos. Looking at the ingredients,
she could guess that Maggie had put in a lot of effort for Jersey.
Smelling the aroma of the food, Jersey had a great appetite. “Did you make all of this for me?”
Cecelia didn’t answer, but instead handed him a spoon. “Try it! While you’re recovering, you should
also replenish your body.”
Jersey assumed that she had made the food, and he was indeed hungry. He took the utensils and
started eating on his own. He knew that it was unrealistic for Cecelia to feed him, especially since his
injury was not in his arms.
After Jersey finished all the food and drank the delicious chicken soup, hisplexion improved a bit.
“I haven’t had food cooked by you in a long time. Thank you, Cecelia. The food is delicious.”
At this moment, Cecelia revealed the truth. “Jersey, actually, I didn’t make this food. It was Maggie’s
good intention.”
“What? Her?”
Jersey’s first reaction was to vomit everything he had just eaten.
Cecelia tried to dissuade him. “There’s no need to have such a strong reaction, Jersey. Regardless of
whether you hate her or me her, she doesn’t have any ill intentions towards you. You have to think
about it. These are things she owes you, and it’s not unreasonable for you to ept them.”
“Why do you help her?”
Jersey looked at her with suspicion, not understanding why Cecelia was now speaking up for Maggie.
“I’m not helping anyone. I just want to tell you that sometimes what your eyes see may not be true.
Maybe you have biases and misunderstandings towards her, and the truth might not be what you think
it is!”
“Stop it! Don’t mention her anymore!”
Jersey had a strong reaction, and his emotions became agitated. He didn’t want to hear anything
rted to Maggie from Cecelia.
Cecelia understood that the grievances between them might not be resolved with just a few words from
her. It would require other opportunities.
“Alright, consider me being nosy. Have a good rest!”
Cecelia started packing up to leave, but Jersey grabbed her wrist in time. “Cecelia, I’m sorry. I wasn’t
getting angry at you earlier… Will you stoping to see me?”
He regretted his actions, and Cecelia smiled gently. “Of course not! Actually, even if an ordinary friend
is sick, I woulde to visit, let alone you!Content from N?velDr(a)ma.Org.
“Although I’m no longer a member of Dark Moon, and we’re no longer senior and junior, I consider you
a good friend, a quite approachable elder brother. Naturally, I hope you can recover soon.”
A good friend?
A quite approachable elder brother?
Was this Cecelia’s redefinition of him?
Hearing these two terms, Jersey felt a bit sad. But he mustered up his courage to ask, “Does that mean
you won’t give me any chance, Cecelia?
“We’ve known each other for five years, and I’ve loved you for five years. I don’t believe you have no
feelings for me. Can my five years of devotion notpare to your few months with Remington?
“He treats you well, but I can treat you even better. He can risk his life for you, and so can I. Cecelia.
Why can’t you consider being with me?
“Is it because Tobiani is my father? I’ve severed ties with him, and in the future, the Bowman Group has
no connection to Dark Moon. I can also make you happy, Cecelia…”
His tone was filled with sadness, his eyes dim and mncholic, carrying a hint of low self-esteem.
Cecelia gently pushed his hand away and sat down to exin, “Jersey, I understand your feelings, and
I will always remember your devotion to me.
“But I am well aware that even without Remington, I can’t reciprocate your love. I don’t want to juggle
multiple rtionships and dy your life.
“If possible, I hope that in the future, you can still be my children’s uncle. You can try to delete my
number and explore other possibilities. Maybe you can also find your own happiness.”
After finishing her confession, Cecelia prepared to leave with the thermos in hand. Before she left, she
thought of something and didn’t forget to remind him, “By the way, you need to arrange for good
protection and be on guard against Tobiani!”
Jersey fell into silence and agony. Cecelia sighed lightly and walked out of the hospital room.
Just as she stepped out, she saw Remington leaning against the wall not far away in the corridor.
Cecelia opened her mouth wide in surprise.
