    “Oh? Then… are you hurt?” “Of course not! Although Grandma doesn’t want me to see you, she still


    treats me very well.” Ava took a look at her son. Fortunately, Jean looked fine and he seemed to have


    even gained some weight! Karen might not like her, but at least she still treated her only grandson well.


    Then, Ava let out a sigh of relief. Ava grabbed her son’s little hands and started asking him questions


    about the past few days. Since Jean hadn’t seen his mother for many days, he had a lot to tell her.


    Both of them talked from noon until dinnertime without stopping. Even at night when Jean had already


    gone to bed, Ava still didn’t want to leave him. Jean held her arm as he fell asleep and his chubby face


    looked so adorable. She sat on the bed and looked at her son’s face, and her heart was filled with


    warmth. “Jean, mommy just wishes to always be by your side.” Ava mumbled. Meanwhile, Jean slept

    started biting his fingers. She took out his dirty fingers from his mouth, but in a short while, he gnawed


    at it again. This was probably a bad habit that all children had to go through. Even if her son was


    smarter than others, it seemed to be inevitable. Ava sighed slightly and tucked him in. Then, she


    walked out of the room. The lights in the study room were still on in the dead of night. She hesitated for


    a moment before walking to the door.


    Meanwhile, Damien was checking at some documents. He raised his head and saw Ava entering the


    room. Then, he turned his eyes back to the documents without giving her any response.


    She stood beside him for a while before he finally put aside his work. “What’s the matter?” His tone was


    lazy and emotionless. “Damien, thank you.”


    “For what?” “Thank you for everything you’ve done.” She tried her best to make her voice sound as soft


    as possible, hoping that it would make her seem gentle.


    However, the word ‘gentle’ was probably not suitable for her as she kind of feeling weird behaving that


    way.


    Damien’s face twitched slightly. Nobody knew if he was trying to contain hisughter or if he was still


    angry. Nevertheless, he remained emotionless. She took a step closer and said, “Damien, let’s make


    up.”


    There was a bit of deliberate ttery, as well as a bit of awkwardness in her tone. Damien snorted and


    said, “Don’t you think it’s a little toote for that?”


    “Nope.”


    She suddenly squatted down and put her hands around his thighs.

    conditions.” “What are they?”


    “I get to move back into the master bedroom.”


    The rm clock must have rung countless times the next morning, yet Ava still found it difficult to wake


    up.


    Her entire body’s muscles were sore and she felt ufortable all over! It took her a lot of effort to


    reach out to her phone and turn off the rm. Then, her gaze fell on a pair of dark eyes. “Can I skip


    work today?” Damien chuckled and pulled her into his arms again. Ava felt that her brain was still


    enveloped in white noise. Last night’s steamy session still lingered in her mind, yet he had already


    started arousing her again. “Please, I’m begging you…” All her begging and struggles for mercy were


    lost in his endless kisses. In short, she failed to get out of bed. Ava didn’t get enough sleep until three


    o’clock in the afternoon. Then, she finally made her way out of the roomzily. If she hadn’t been so


    hungry, she would still be able to sleep for another ten hours. Damien had already left home long ago.


    Honestly, she really did not understand why he was still so energetic.


    Sitting at the table, Ava yawned sleepily.


    “Sir just called and said that he would deal with the aftermath of Mr. Hemsworth’s matter. I think that he


    won’t be able toe back early this evening. Please have a good rest.” The butler told her.


    Ava was relieved to hear that. It would be best if he didn’te back for the next few days. Otherwise,


    she would literally die of exertion.


    Over at the Radbury Group. Damien sneezed twice while he was working. Was somebody talking


    about him behind his back? Then, Dempsey knocked on the door. “Sir, the new representative has


    arrived.” He nodded and immediately got up to go to the meeting room. After Mr. Hemsworth was taken


    to the police station, Damien sessfully found out that he had harassed different female employees


    many times at hispany. After the matter was ascertained, going to prison was inevitable for him.


    Furthermore, the partneringpany had already sent a new representative so quickly. It seemed that


    they had no intention of protecting Mr. Hemsworth at all.. Damien walked into the conference room and


    everyone was already there. Dempsey introduced, “Sir, this is the new representative of the


    pharmaceuticalpany.” A man stood up from the chair in the conference room and stretched out his


    hand to Damien with a smile. “Hello, Mr. Radbury. I’m Selden Oakley, the new representative.”

    Damien let out a soft chuckle. It made sense. 30% of thepany’s shares belonged to the Oakley


    Corporation, so it was natural for the Oakleys toe in as a representative. However, Selden was the


    second son of the Oakley Family. He had never handled the family’spany affairs as he was a


    doctor. It was unexpected for him to change his mind. “Mr. Radbury, I hope we can have a wonderful


    partnership.” Selden’s stretched-out hand was still there while he was smiling politely. Damien had to


    shake his hand and he said. “Sure, I’m looking forward to this partnership.”


    After the meeting, Damien saw Selden in apletely different light.


    He had always thought that this guy was just a young man who studied medicine and did not have any


    business acumen. Unexpectedly, he was already quite good at it despite this was the first time he took


    over thepany’s affairs.


    Even though Damien had been in the business industry for many years, he might not be able to take


    advantage of Selden.


    “I didn’t know that you were so eloquent,” Damien said casually after the meeting.


    “There are many things about me that you don’t know.” Selden replied coldly.
