He slowly ascended the staircase and pushed open the bedroom door.
Thanks to the dim light, Su Hongxing’s sleeping face came into his view.
He sat by the bed, looking at her closely.
Su Hongxing, sensing something off, bolted awake, finding herself face to face with the man set to be her fiancé – Ye Qn.
“Why are you here at this hour instead of sleeping?” asked Su Hongxing, attempting to turn on the light but was stopped by Ye Qn.
He crawled into bed, pulling her into his arms, “Can’t sleep, wanted to see you.”
Assuming she would push him away, to his surprise she just patted his back lightly, “It’s better we sleep soon, nothing worth seeing. There will be plenty of opportunities in the future if you want to look.”
The night was very silent, with only the sound of their intertwined breathing filling the room.
It felt as if they were inseparable parts of each other, as if they were never going to part with each other.
Su Hongxing became drowsy again very quickly. As she was fading into sleep, Ye Qn’s voice echoed in her ear, “Su Hongxing, do you hate me?”
Su Hongxing opened her eyes, staring at the close-up face of Ye Qn.
Hate him? She herself didn’t know what was love and what was hate.
She had no answer.
“You must hate me a lot.” Ye Qn spoke to himself.
Su Hongxing still didn’t respond. Only after a while did he realize that she had fallen asleep.
Whether or not he was there, she could sleep. Even with him by her side, she could still sleep.
His presence couldn’t affect her in the slightest, which meant in her heart, Ye Qn probably meant nothing.
Su Hongxing woke up only at broad daylight. As soon as she did, Ye Qn was there, saying to her, “Let’s go out and have some fun today!”
Su Hongxing looked at Ye Qn, puzzled.
What was he up to?
He was going to get engaged tomorrow, and yet he felt like going out to have fun today? Wasn’t he worried Mo Qiu would find out and feel sad?
That’s right, he had always been capricious and selfish, never caring about anyone else’s feelings. So why would he care whether someone else was heartbroken or not?
“The doctor suggested I stay at home and rest, rather than running around. How about this, I’ll call Mo Qiu over to apany you.” Su Hongxing said, attempting to call Mo Qiu.
Before she could dial the number though, Ye Qn took her phone away.
He smiled softly at her, “Today, it’s just us. Our first date, and also thest one.”
His marriage to Su Hongxing had been hasty, and their divorce equally as rushed. There was no courtship period for them, their marriage was already headed to ruin.
He had dated many women before, but never his ex-wife. This seemed both absurd and amusing.
Of course, regardless of whether Su Hongxing agreed or not, Ye Qn dragged her out of the house.
Compared to Ye Qn’s enthusiasm, Su Hongxing was less interested.
When they reached the children’s section, Ye Qn, noticing the children’s clothes, became excited. He picked out clothes and toys, constantly asking for Su Hongxing’s opinion.
Su Hongxing’splexion worsened, cold sweat trickling down her forehead. Finally noticing that something was off, Ye Qn helped her sit down, “Why didn’t you say that you felt unwell earlier? Let’s go to the hospital.”
