    Su Hongxing was a person who always flowed with the current, capable of maintaining herposure even in the mostplicated of environments.


    After being surrounded by spectators for some time, she grew drowsy, her consciousness somewhat hazy. At this moment, a servant approached her, “Miss Su, the Madam requests your presence.”


    Su Hongxing followed the servant out of the parlor in a daze.


    She wondered who this ‘Madam’ the servant referred to could be.


    It was only after she came to the Ye Family today that she found just how populous and affluent they were. Old Man Ye was a figure of authority, a general no less, and all his children were aplished.

    The servant led Su Hongxing to the back garden, then quietly made her exit.


    Su Hongxing stood at the garden entrance, her eyesnding on a white silhouette in front of her. Simply by the woman’s form, she could tell that she was a beauty.


    Could this be the ‘Madam’ that the servant had spoken of who wanted to meet her?


    The woman seemed to feel her gaze, turned her head among the blooming flowers and revealed a pure face devoid of any extravagance.


    “Miss Su, pleasee this way.” The woman gave Su Hongxing a charming smile, instantly injecting life into her face.


    Su Hongxing paused, feeling a vague sense of familiarity when the woman smiled.


    After some thought, she finally realised why — the woman’s smile resembled that of Mo Qiu’s.


    “Who are you?!” Su Hongxing’s gaze was fixed on the woman’s smiling face.


    The woman responded with a bright smile, “I am Du Qingyu, the wife of Ye Yanhong.”


    Su Hongxing didn’t know who Ye Yanhong was.


    As if sensing her confusion, Qingyu quickly added, “Yanhong is Qn’s father.”


    Su Hongxing nodded in understanding.


    It dawned on her then; Du Qingyu was Ye Yanhong’s wife, which made her Ye Qn’s stepmother.


    And she was a rather young stepmother too, with delicate beauty to boot.


    “Yanhong is away on business today. Since it’s your first time at the old house, I’ll take you for a tour. Miss Su, this way, please.” Du Qingyu walked ahead, leaving the back garden first.


    Su Hongxing silently followed behind Du Qingyu.


    Interestingly, Du Qingyu’s address for her was ‘Miss Su’. Despite being Ye Qn’s wife, Du Qingyu chose to call her by her maiden name.


    The use of ‘Miss Su’ stretched their distance apart.


    The two women had their own thoughts as they mindlessly reached the edge of the swimming pool.


    “How did you meet Qn?” Qingyu asked Su Hongxing with a smile.


    Su Hongxing pursed her lips, “There’s not much to tell about how we met.”


    She couldn’t possibly tell Du Qingyu that she had been forced to meet Ye Qn; to this day, she still didn’t know who had sent her to him.


    Perhaps, someone was still watching her every move from behind the scenes.


    She couldn’t understand why she had been sent to Ye Qn, and why Ye Qn, who was desirable to countless women, had chosen her as his potential wife.


    She didn’t have the looks nor the figure. When it came to character, she didn’t evene close to matching a single finger of Mo Qiu’s.
