That half of the worm had already been taken away by Suna.
Yang Yi was inspecting his chainmail and found that the part that had been bitten was deformed.
If he hadn’t torn off the worm in time, or if the worm hadn’t been severed in two, the chainmail might have been bitten through. If that had happened, his flesh and blood would be in shreds.
After checking his body and confirming there was no issue by looking at his status values, Yang Yi began examining the Nightmare Star’s interface.
The ship’s durability was gradually declining, indicating that the worms’ suction was causing damage.
If this continued, the ship’s hull would eventually breach. Even if the worms stopped clinging to it by then, the Nightmare Star would face major trouble.
So, he had to free the ship from the entanglement of the worms while the hull was still intact — the sooner, the better — because Yang Yi had previously spotted other icebergs approaching.
Those icebergs weren’t just simple icebergs; they were surely packed full of worms!
On the other side, Suna was fully focused on dissecting the worm corpse before her.
She sliced open the worm with a knife, inspecting its internal structure and organs. Her brows furrowed slightly — whether it was due to the smell or disgust was unclear.
Once the worm was cut open, it finally stopped struggling. Its insides spread out like soft, fatty meat. The surface was lined with sharp teeth and hook-like barbs that twitched asionally.
It also contained a significant amount of white, oil-like fluid, which emitted a pungent odour.
Suna made a couple more cuts, and her frown deepened.
The creature was odd — its internal structure was far too simple. It was nothing more than a long, specialised feeding tube. (1)

The only additional functional structure was at the end of its tendrils, connected to sensory organs that could detect nearby objects.
“How long is this worm?” Suna asked aloud.
“Extremely long. From the sea surface to here, I’d say about twenty metres!”
Suna gestured with her hand forparison.
It had a diametre of roughly 10cm but was twenty metres long — a feeding tube of such length seemed like a massive waste!
Unless… Unless it wasn’t a worm, but a kind of tendril specialised for feeding!
The cluster of tendrils could very well belong to a single organism, which would also exin why their movements were so synchronised.
The more Suna thought about it, the more usible it seemed. She exined her theory to Yang Yi.
“I think this thing isn’t a worm; it just looks like one on the outside.
Its structure is overly simple, resembling a feeding tendril specialised for consuming prey, much like an elephant’s trunk.
So, this group of worms might actually belong to a single organism...” Suna borated.
“Oh, I see! So, cutting off these worms is like chopping off its legs — it wouldn''t actually kill it, right?” Yang Yi summarised.
“Uh…you could think of it that way!” Suna replied, somewhat speechless.
She dipped her dagger into the worm’s bodily fluid and brought it closer to smell.
The scent gave her a sense of familiarity, reminiscent of mmable organic solvents inboratories.
She decided to test it by holding it near the firece. Sure enough, it ignited upon contact with fire.
“Yang Yi, this creature’s bodily fluid is mmable!”
Suna eximed with some excitement, turning to look at Yang Yi, only to freeze in ce.
Yang Yi, at some point, had changed into a waterproof sharkskin swimsuit, with his sweater and trousers worn underneath. Over that, he had put on the chainmail and added spider-web-like gloves on top!
Overall, he looked utterly mismatched...
“What are you doing?” Suna asked.
“Making the most of my time to kill these creatures,” Yang Yi replied.
He pulled out a gigantic sword from his bag — a massive de known as the Ironbreaker, which had been wrapped in cloth for a long time.
It was finally time to use it!

The Ironbreaker hit the captain’s cabin floor, creating a deep dent.
Yang Yi hurried to unwrap the cloth sealing the de.
“You’re using this thing as a weapon?” Suna asked in surprise, staring at the massive sword.
“Exactly!” Yang Yi answered decisively. “To deal withrge creatures, you need a massive weapon. Otherwise, you risk not killing them!”
He held the Ironbreaker in one hand, urging the Spirit of Dread to quickly sap his sanity, while holding a crimson potion in the other, ready to drink at any moment.
With thebined effects of madness and the crimson potion, he’d finally be able to wield this giant sword!
Yang Yi was also quite excited, eager to give it a try.
Suna, on the other hand, was momentarily speechless, unsure of what to say.
"Later, I''ll go and chop off those worm-like tendrils. Then you take the chance to move the Nightmare Star away and pull me back up..."
Yang Yi started outlining his simple and straightforward n, or in Suna’s words, a rough and crude one.
"These worms are probably afraid of fire. Earlier, they seemed to retreat when they saw the fire burning in the firece. So, we could try driving them away with fire," she suggested.
But her n was immediately rejected.
"It’ll catch fire — I’ve seen it in my dreams. The whole ship could ignite, and I’d end up burning as well," Yang Yi exined.
He was relieved he hadn’t used the Sea Serpent’s Fang to set a fire earlier; otherwise, he might have already turned into a burning man.
Suna didn’t try to persuade him further because she knew it wouldn’t work — Yang Yi was incredibly stubborn.
A few minutester, Yang Yi entered a frenzied state, his eyes glowing red.
He immediately drank the crimson potion, and his skin started to flush red as well. His attributes surged, pushing every stat to the limits of human capability!
Then, he began attempting to lift the massive sword lying on the ground.
Creak, creak!
Yang Yi exerted all his strength, his face turning bright red as he clenched his teeth and tightened every muscle in his body.
Finally, as his bones groaned under the strain, he managed to lift the heavy sword, even identally smashing a hole in the ceiling in the process.
The Ironbreaker began to tremble slightly, emitting a faint humming sound. Whether from excitement or some other reason, it seemed to resonate.
The overwhelming weight of the sword began to lighten, as though it had acknowledged Yang Yi after some sort of trial, no longer overly burdening his body.
“Heh, what a great sword!” Yang Yi eximed, thrilled.
Without hesitation, he shed through the captain''s cabin, creating a hole towards the bow of the ship. Holding the massive sword, he rushed outside.
After all, carrying such an enormous weapon made it almost impossible to exit through a normal door.
Suna stood in the background, silently observing Yang Yi''s every move, lost in thought.
A few secondster, she picked up a piece of wood, dipped it in the worm’s bodily fluid, and lit it, creating a makeshift torch. Holding it, she followed Yang Yi outside.
On the other side, Yang Yi gripped the massive sword with both hands and strode towards the ship’s bow with heavy steps.
His pace wasn’t fast, but each step was incredibly forceful, causing loud thuds on the deck.
Even the sturdy white bone gauntlets cracked under the weight of his steps.
Such amotion naturally drew the attention of the white worms clustered at the bow of the ship.
The sucking noises stopped, and a group of worms aimed at Yang Yi, ready to bite him.
But this time, Yang Yi didn’t dodge.
Wielding the colossal and extraordinary sword in his hands, he swung it back at them with all his might.
