Chapter 3


    Let me Find the Truth.


    Was I even meant to be here? Was I an accidental pregnancy? Am I supposed to be here on earth? I dreamt about the world ending. I was drifting in space with Kaito-kun and my Parents... There was a circle and inside of it, there was a heart. It had pictures of Kaito-kun, the purple haired girl and my parents. Suddenly, a crack formed on the circle.. Then a chain reaction happened and a bright light appeared which blinded me, all I heard was an explosion. I put my arms to cover my face as the debris of the explosion were flying towards me, it hurt. I got bruised, I screamed in pain.


    Once the light faded, the pain disappeared and I rushed to get the photos but it was too late.. The pictures of the purple haired girl tore to pieces and faded to the void, same with all the others... I fell to floor on my knees as blood engulfed the pieces as they faded.. My eyes widened in horror.


    I thought.. All of them died...


    Then I woke up sweating and Kaito-kun nowhere to be seen. Leading me to cry even more.. Till I saw a paper on the table.


    I read it, "Miyuki-san!! You kept moving and you wouldnt stop sleep talking.. Are you sure youre okay?" Exhausted, Kaito-kun gave up trying to wake me up and left this as a letter. His handwriting is also messy here..


    Once I realized, I became embarrassed and covered my face. I was overthinking. I didn''t know what to do..


    I decided to just stay at home and message Kaito-kun.


    I sent him a worried text message, "Hey!! Where are you are you okay?"


    I became anxious since he took awhile to reply. I didn''t know what to do anymore...


    What if.. He saw the explosion too.? No, thats just dumb.


    But what if, something happened while I was asleep..


    As I pondered, the clock ticked slowly and as every minute passed I hadn''t heard any notification from Kaito-kun.


    I grabbed my phone from the left side of my bed, overthinking, I thought to myself, "He has to be — alive he has to be. Ding! "Finally, a Notification. Could it be from Kaito-kun?"


    "Kaito-kun! ..?"


    "What.?" — It reads, "I''m okay. But, something isn''t the same anymore." I trembled as I read this response. What does he mean by "Something isnt the same anymore"?


    I then type with my trembling fingers, it took me awhile though, "What do you mean??" Sent.


    3 minutes and no reply. Just an eerie silence...


    Is this something related to the purple haired girl.? Or worse, could Kaito-kun be in danger?

    "Ahh!! I cant take this anymore." I scream, sweating.


    At this point, I dont care anymore. I rush and grab my jacket, ignoring my startled mother before dashing outside my house, the rain was pouring but I had other things to care about.


    My heart was racing.


    My brain was trying to make answers.. Could I be overthinking? Maybe I am.


    But other things need to happen. I need to find Kaito-kun, actually, I need to know if he''s okay.


    As the wind blew stronger, It became harder to move but I got through it and put my left hand on top of my head to balance out my weight.


    "I need to find Kaito-kun.."


    Where in the world is he?! Had something happened?


    This rain.. It''s draining the sounds of nature.. Wait, it amplifies light color!


    What if Kaito-kun left something light behind for me to find..


    I''ll go first to his favorite stop, the pancake store.


    As I walked nearer, I smelled something horrible. It was almost unbearable, but I realized it was just the canals.


    I notice something shine in the sidewalk, a note of some kind. I should go get it.


    I go closer and get the note, I also hit my head on the fence while picking it up, "Ow, why do I keep hitting my head! Miyuki you klutz!"


    It was cold.. My hands were shaking as I opened the note. The rain smudged all the ink but some were still legible. "Purple" "Find Her" "Bike" "Circle Broke"


    Hmm.. Wait! "Purple Haired Girl", "Kaito''s bike", "The Exploding Circle!"


    I then put the note in my pockets, the wet note damp against my skin.


    I scanned the area, metal can.. dropped bag and a homeless man.


    I thought nothing would be of use there so I started walking forward.


    Hmm? A convenience store? Could be nice to stop by..


    Wait.. Kaito''s bike? A note.. Unlike the other one this was under a roof..


    "If you''re reading this then you must be Miyuki-san. I''m sorry if I wont reply to your messages. My phone is not with me right now, find me in the basement of my home."


    What? His phone.? Is not with him..? T-Then...

    "The Notes will lead you nowhere but a trap. Take his bike instead."

    I finally return back to the normal world, the rain still pouring smashed into my ears. Didn''t expect that.


    Wait.. Is that a gate and a bike chain? The bike and the bike chain.. I knew I shouldve trusted him.


    Okay! Let''s find Kaito-kun! I run to the gate and climb it. Only to find an abandoned garden full of haze and mist.


    Nausea and Thoughts came to me, "Have I made the right decision, was going here good?"


    I then see a figure in the mist.. Moving faster than I could comprehend. But after 5 minutes,


    the rain and fog cleared up and I saw Kaito-kun''s house.


    I run to his house and open the door. And there I see.. An empty chair with broken ropes.


    I believe he was here but someone or something took him..


    I should be careful here. This house isn''t just a house.. It may have some hidden things or —possibly traps.. I notice a moving shadow in the corner of my eye, but I kept searching till a floor creaked and I got scared. I jumped back and I started sweating.


    Though I was scared and trembling, I needed to find Kaito-kun..


    "Ah!" What is this.. A book? No, a journal?


    Let''s see here.. Folders? "Target" "Safe" "Friends". What are these?


    I open the first folder, "Target" and I see a photo of myself.. Creeped out, I drop the book and call for Kaito''s name one more time.. "Kaito-kun! Please!"


    I didn''t want to leave without him so I continued searching till I saw the basement..


    The note said to go in but the man said to not...


    What is that figure? Kaito-kun.?


    Kaito! Huh.? What..?


    No... KAITO?!
