Chapter 306
Chapter 306
"You know better than anyone who Dicky''s mother is," Jay said.
"And what I''m trying to say is that our nation''s policy dictates that the children or grandchildren of any
individual with a criminal record are forbidden from holding public office.Of course, it doesn''t seem
likely that Dicky would be a politician at the moment, but what if things change and our family
needs a direct connection? You know very well why members of the Stuart family are holding public
office in that sense."

"Of course, most people are unaware that Cordy is Dicky''s mom at the moment, but you know how
cutthroat the political scene gets.Anyone with a blemish in their resume would never keep it under
wraps because their opponents would inevitably ensure that ites to light."
"Andstly, the most important question of all..."
Jay paused for a moment, before continuing, "Do you really think Johnny would ultimately marry
Jessica? Father, were you notpelled by circumstances when you agreed to the Stuarts’ proposal?
Johnny did not say no right then and there because he understands your plight, so why don''t you
understand his? Don''t let his respect and sentiment toward you burn off for nothing."
n''s study was silent after that.Jay waited for a while, but since he was not getting any response, he
said politely, "I''ll be leaving now.I won''t impose any further."
"Jay."
n suddenly stopped him..
"Yeah."
"You never were ipetent," n said, acknowledging him right then.
"I only stopped you from working at Levine Ventures because of who you were. It''s something the family
and I can''t abide with."
"And I would neverin about that.I would''ve starved to death in the streets if you never brought
me here," Jay said, before adding, "And Johnny is special. He''s plenty enough to take the weight of our
family. It was a wise decision you entrusted him with Levine Ventures."
n looked up at him then and nodded.
Much had already been decided, and there was no need for lies or deceit.
The phone on n''s desk suddenly rang, and Lawrence quickly answered it.He started scowling as the
person on the end continued, and he eventually lowered it to tell n, "Sir, they''re reporting that Master
John is gone."
n''s eyes narrowed, while Jay appeared a little nervous.
"Shall we instruct them to bring in more people to find him?" Lawrence asked.
n hesitated for a moment but eventually said, "Forget it.Let him be."
"Yes, Master Levine."'' Lawrence replied.
Jay quietly heaved a sigh of relief, and n told him, "Go now.I''m tired."
He did not exin himself, but ''let him be'' already makes clear his stance.Jay left the study then and
took out his phone.
However, he lowered it just before he made the call.
To Zoe, he was better off dead.
Zoe was certainly throwing a major tantrum in Quinn''s office, and she had been ranting about Jessica
the entire afternoon.
"I''m dying here! I mean, how could she be this heinous? How?! She always looks so cheerful, lively,
and not calctive at all, but it turns out that she''s rotten from the inside! I know there''s no one perfect
in this world—hell, the more wless they seem, the more hypocritical they are!"
Quinn was actually impressed by Zoe''s spirit then.Did she not tire?! She heard that the reality TV
program Zoe had been filmingsted until 2 AM.
Then, Zoe woke up at 7 AM and went to another studio.
That sessionsted until 12 PM and she had lunch in the car, rushing to catch her flight back home.
It was very much possible that she did not sleep on the ne, and it was now two hours since she
arrived at Quinn''s office, ranting and rambling endlessly without stopping to breathe.
But just as Quinn was about to turn and tel] her to take a break, she saw that Zoe was already on the
couch, asleep with her mouth hanging wide open.
Quinn could even hear faint snoring, and she smiled.
Zoe would have been such a carefree, cheerful child if she never met Jay.
She brought Zoe a nket and was about to tuck her in when the door suddenly opened.
Quinn turned to find Sam and Jay entering together.
