A Life Debt Repaid By Cheng Xiaocheng Chapter 255

    Chapter 255

Cordy didn’t think she would actually pass out. Even though she had been up

almost the entire night and had overworked herself, she still thought she could

    endure it.

However, she fainted in front of Kyle, of all people.

The moment she copsed, a bad feeling washed over her.

Zoe was waiting at home for Cordy to return from work. She had rescheduled all

her work today and ordered a very nutritious meal from the best private chef in

North City to give Cordy some well-needed supplements. Cordy seemed to have

    Enter title…

lost weight recently, and her wrists were so thin that it looked like they could

    easily break!

Zoe didn’t know why her heart ached so much when she saw Cordy in this state.

Cordy was clearly a strong woman, tougher and more beautiful than Zoe. Yet,

she was ill-fated. As the saying goes, the more beautiful you are, the more

    miserable your life is.

She waited until half past seven and started to get anxious as there was still no

sign of the other woman. Cordy hadn’t rested enoughst night; surely she

wasn’t nning on working through the night, right?

Did Cordy think she was made of steel?

Zoe was furious at the thought and called Cordy, only to find that thetter had

    turned off her phone.

    That was impossible!

Cordy’s phone was always on; twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The possibility of it running out of battery was also off the table, as she was

    extremely cautious.

Zoe was impatient, and she wasn’t one to sit around idly when she set her mind

on something. Without thinking about it, she grabbed Cordy’s car keys and drove

    straight to Starstream Group.

She rushed straight into Cordy’s office once she arrived and threw open the door.

Vince was startled at the sudden intrusion. He had been helping Cordy sort

through the internal requests on herputer, and was stuck on one he couldn’t

decide on. He had sent her a message, but didn’t receive a reply and was about

to call her when the door burst open.

When he saw who it was, he was even more shocked.

W-W-Wasn’t that his favorite idol, Zoe York?! Was this real? Did he actually have

the pleasure to see her up close and personal with his own eyes?

Just then, his idol rushed up to him and asked, “Where’s Cordy?”

Vince took a moment to calm his frantic nerves and replied, ’Miss Sachs left the

    office a while ago.”

Zoe’s heart beat wildly in her chest at his reply, and asked hurriedly, “Did she

    have any business engagements tonight?”

“No. There was a dinner, but she said she wasn’t feeling well today, and didn’t

    attend,’ Vince hastily replied.

“Then, where is she?!” Zoe’s voice took on a higher pitch due to her

    nervousness.

She suddenly had a very bad feeling. She knew Cordy didn’t have any other

friends apart from her, so Cordy had no other personal life that she wasn’t aware

of. Cordy was also very sensible and wouldn’t y around with her health. Since

she was overworked today, she definitely would havee home early to rest.

Most importantly, Cordy would never turn off her phone for no reason.

“What’s wrong?” Vince asked worriedly after seeing how his idol’s face turned red

    with anxiety.

    “It’s nothing.”

Zoe returned to her senses and mentally scolded herself not to panic. She turned

around without another word and left quickly.

Vince didn’t manage to say anything before she left. He had wanted an

    autograph…

Zoe got back into the car and called John as she drove out.

    “John, Cordy’s missing!”

John’s slender fingers paused in his task. He asked harshly, ’What?”

“Cordy’s missing! I was waiting for her at home for dinner, and she didn’te

home! I called her, but her phone was turned off. I rushed to her office, and her

secretary said she had already left work a while back and also said there were no

business engagements tonight. Cordy doesn’t have any other friends, John. She

    wouldn’t have gone anywhere else-”

The call was cut off abruptly.

Zoe almost burst into tears when that happened, and she clutched her phone

    tightly.

Why did it feel like Cordy was always in danger?

God, please don’t be too cruel to her!
