Gilbert’s heart almost stopped as Marigold groaned in pain.

Gilbert didn’t need the Walters’ help, but everybody in Bardoff City knew Jenny and Gilbert’s
rtionship. Attacking Gilbert meant that they were going against her and the Water family.
“I want to take care of it myself. You just have to help me find out who’s behind it.” Gilbert knew Jenny
would help him, but he did not want that. He wanted to take care of his own business himself.
Besides, he actually could already figure out parts of it.
In fact, there were not that many people who would attack him.

Gilbert sneered in secret. Were they preparing to get rid of him because they saw he was not nning
to return? What an unusual tactic they had taken.
Gilbert brought Marigold into the ambnce and left. Jenny and Alec stayed behind to handle the rest
of the matter.
Marigold sat on the stretcher in the ambnce while the doctor treated the injury on her arm. She was
not severely injured, but Gilbert looked extremely sullen when he saw Marigold bleeding.
“Alright. Keep your arm away from water for a few days and rest,” the doctor instructed. There was no
need for her to go to the hospital at all.
