The head of the Faust family wasn’t to be trifled with. It wouldn’t matter if Evan’s men were brought in
from abroad; if Zeke got serious, not a single one of them would be spared, and Evan himself might

me?”
“No.” Alec shook his head. Fearing she wouldn’t believe him, he quickly exined, “I was keeping an
eye on Luke. I heard that he was having dinner with you, and I was worried, so I came to check.’
“Really?” Jenny was skeptical but also thought it was reasonable for Alec to have someone watching
Luke, considering the chaos within the Fausts.
Alec nodded. “Yes, I know you don’t like being followed. I wouldn’t deliberately provoke you.”
