“So… Are you also pitying me?” Huo Yanyan softly asked.
“Call it pity, call it sympathy, either way, you’re not doing well right now, and you have a child to take care of… I don’t know how well you would do if youe to work at GK, but you would be doing a lot better than you are right now. I just want to help. If you dislike relying on others, just pretend that I didn’t say anything.”
“I know… I just, nevermind. I’ll think about it, thank you…” Huo Yanyan looked down at her watch.
“I have to go.”
“Mhm.” Huo Mian nodded.
“Thank you, Huo Mian.”
“You said that already.” Huo Mian smiled.
“I’ll think about your advice.”
“Mhm, you can ask me if you need money. Of course, I am only lending it to you. You have to pay it backter…” Huo Mian knew that Huo Yanyan had high self-esteem, so she didn’t treat her like a beggar.
“I know.”
After Huo Yanyan left, Huo Mian hastily drove home.
– South Hill Manor –
Tonight for dinner, their entire family was present, which was quite rare. Qin Chu sat in the middle of the twins to care for them, and Yang Meirong and Zhixin sat on the other side.
When Huo Mian got home, it wasn’t toote yet.
“Wow, Mommy is finally home. I’m so hungry.” Little Bean waved.
“You didn’t have to wait, you should eat when you’re hungry. We don’t have guests anyways,” Huo Mianughed.
“How could we do that? Mommy, you’re working so hard to support our entire family, we have to wait for our breadwinner,” Little Bean immediately ttered her.
Luckily everybody was used to it. Huo Mian washed her hands and walked to the table. “I know, I know, you’re the best… How was golfing today?”
“It was great, I ckmailed Uncle Tang for a Haagen Daz.” Little Bean smiled in satisfaction.
“Pudding, what about you?”
“Mommy, I had fun too,” Pudding obediently answered.
“Sweetie, when did theye back?”
“At noon.”
“That’s so early, so you took care of them the entire afternoon? Thank you for the hard work.”
“It wasn’t hard, you did all the hard work. Come and have some soup.” Qin Chu prepared a bowl of pork soup for Huo Mian.
“Eh? Are you guys done showing off? I’m feeling personally attacked…” Zhixinined.
“If you’re so annoyed at being single, why don’t you find a girlfriend then?” Yang Meirong scolded her son.
“I can’t just find a girlfriend. It’s not as easy as grocery shopping,” Zhixin argued.
“Eh? Uncle, you don’t have a girlfriend?” Little Bean asked.
“No, where did you see one?” Zhixinughed.
“What about the box with the female ne in your room?”
Zhixin was speechless...
“Qin Mumu, when did you sneak into my room?” Zhixin was mortified.
Pudding butted in, “Uncle, it doesn’t matter that Little Bean snuck into your room. What’s with the ne?”
“Zhixin, you’re in a rtionship?” After eating some rice, Huo Mian calmly looked at her brother.
“Uh, Sis, don’t listen to them. My ne… It’s one of our new designs, I brought it back to study the pattern,” Zhixin guiltily lied.
“Uncle, your nose will grow if you lie,” Little Bean reminded.
“Uncle, I’ve seen all of GK’s products, and your ne isn’t one of them. I think you designed it yourself. Are you not nning on telling us the truth? Mommy and Daddy are smart, so don’t lie. Otherwise, it would be very awkward if they see through it…” Pudding sympathetically looked at Zhixin.
“Are you really in a rtionship?” Yang Meirong asked in a higher pitch.
