    Chapter 2075: Pre-Battle Training

Around 5 PM, Lin Yi and Ning Che arrived in Tianjin but didn’t immediately begin their operation. Instead, they decided to sample some local specialties—jianbing and Goubuli buns. Both found the food to be excellent, thoroughly enjoying their meal.

After eating, they drove to the small fishing vige that Qiu Yuluo had mentioned.

Upon arrival, Lin Yi realized the scenery was quite different from what he had imagined.

The vige, named Kaijiang Vige, was filled with two- or three-story brick houses. Although some of the walls showed signs of wear, the ce still had a modern feel.

It was clear that the people living here enjoyed a decent standard of living.

About two hundred meters away was the seaside, with more than a dozen fishing boats docked at the pier.

Two of them were modern andrge, while the rest were wooden boats with fishings draped over them. With the setting sun in the background, the scene was quite picturesque.

“This must be the ce Qiu Yuluo mentioned. It’s more hidden than I expected,” Ning Che remarked as she nced around.

“But we still need to figure out exactly where Wei Jianlong is hiding.”

Lin Yi, gazing at the distant sunset, replied calmly,<div>

“I doubt he’s here yet. He knows the kind of business he’s dealing with and wouldn’t hide in a fixed spot, giving others a chance to catch him off guard. My guess is he’lle after the transaction isplete to minimize exposure.”

“So, we’re just going to wait here?”

    “Staying here might be dangerous.”

Lin Yi looked out the window. “If Wei Jianlong dared to choose this ce for the handoff, he’s probably already scouted it out. He would only operate here if he was sure it waspletely safe. And since today is the day of the transaction, any outsider showing up here could easily raise suspicion. We can’t stay here for long.”

With that, Lin Yi started the car and drove to a more distant location. They stopped at a hill, where Lin Yi pulled out binocrs to keep an eye on the vige.

Ning Che leaned back in her seat, pletely rxed, her mind at ease.

One of the benefits of working with Lin Yi was that she didn’t have to think too much. He would handle everything, and all she needed to do was follow his lead.

As night fell, the two of them even went out for another meal.

By the sea, under the blossoming spring warmth, Ning Che, feeling spontaneous after dinner, decided to “clear some memory” with Lin Yi in the car.

Ning Che was careful to keep things tame though, so as to not aggravate Lin Yi’s injury.

Around 1:00 AM, Lin Yi checked his watch and gave Ning Che a signal. “It’s about time. Let’s get to work.”

    “Let’s go.”

The two got out of the car and, using the cover of darkness, circled back to the vige.

As they moved, they blended seamlessly into the shadows, pletely avoiding detection.

Upon returning to the vige, they quietly took up positions on a small fishing boat docked by the shore.

The boat reeked of fish, but such conditions didn’t bother the two of them in the slightest.

Once on board, they each found a concealed spot, keeping a close watch on their surroundings, ready to act at any moment.

There was no nightlife in the vige. By 11 PM, Kaijiang Vige waspletely dark.

Thest light in the vige had quietly gone out.<div>

The clouds overhead blocked even the faint starlight, leaving only the sound of waves crashing against the shore. Despite the setting, the scene was far from romantic.

    “It looks like something’s happening!”

Ning Che whispered around 2:30 AM.

“There’s a lighting from the southwest, and it seems to be moving toward us.”<div>

Lin Yi followed Ning Che’s gaze and spotted the faint flicker of light in the distance. Though dim, it was visible.

Lin Yi picked up his binocrs and confirmed what he suspected.

“There are two vehicles,” Lin Yi said.

“It’s probably Wei Jianlong and his men.”

“Let’s observe for now,” Ning Che replied, ncing at her watch.

“It could be some passing travelers, but given the timing, their transaction at sea should be nearly done. They should be returning soon.”

Lin Yi nodded. “It’s also possible they sent someone ahead to scout the area. We need to be cautious.”

After a brief discussion, they stopped talking and continued to monitor the two lights as they approached the vige.

At the same time, a Range Rover and a Land Cruiser were steadily making their way toward Kaijiang Vige.

In the Range Rover were two people. The driver, wearing a ck suit, had sharp, hawk-like eyes.

Even while driving, he remained vignt, scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger.

The driver’s name was Zhao Donghai, one of Wei Jianlong’s most trusted men and his bodyguard.

Wherever Wei Jianlong went, Zhao Donghai was always by his side.<div>

In the passenger seat sat a thin man with prominent cheekbones, wearing gold-rimmed sses. His neatly styled hair and the way he dressed exuded the air of a sessful businessman.

He wore a white linen shirt, and in his hands, he fiddled with three walnuts. His lower half was d in ck pants and cloth shoes. With a nk expression, he stared ahead. The only sounds inside the vehicle were the hum of the engine and the asional click of the walnuts in his hands.

This man was Wei Jianlong, the boss who had supplied Bai Yongshou.

    Bzz Bzz Bzz!

At that moment, the sound of static came through the walkie-talkie.

“Boss, the deal’s done. We’re on our way back. We should be at the designated spot in about thirty minutes.”

“Be careful on your way back. Bai Yongshou from Zhonghai has already been caught, so things might not be so quiet. Don’t let your guard down.”

    “Understood.”

With that, the walkie-talkie fell silent.

“Boss, now that Bai Yongshou’s been caught, do you think he might rat us out?” Zhao Donghai asked.n/?/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“Not likely. He knows who I am. Even if he had the guts, he wouldn’t dare cross me. Otherwise, I’d kill his entire family,” Wei Jianlong said coldly.

“But I don’t see Bai Yongshou as someone who values loyalty,” Zhao Donghai added.

“You’re right. He’s not particrly loyal, but he’s sentimental, which is why my leverage still holds weight,” Wei Jianlong replied.<div>

“He wouldn’t have risen from a lowly thug to where he is now without me. He knows that. Even if he had the guts, he wouldn’t betray me.”

“What puzzles me is why the police in Zhonghai have targeted Bai Yongshou,” Zhao Donghai said, confused.

“His ambitions are too small. He’s not cut out to be a major yer. If the authorities wanted to make an example, Bai Yongshou wouldn’t be the best choice.”
