    Luo Pen stepped back, surprised by Shen Qin’s reaction. Noticing her master’s unreadable expression, she cautiously asked, “Master, is something wrong?”


    Shen Qin snapped out of her daze, quickly concealing theplex emotions in her eyes. “Which Gu Yang?”


    “The daughter the Xiao family recently found—her name is also Xiao Yang,” Luo Pen replied.


    In fact, Shen Qin had been invited to the Xiao family banquet, but she had chosen to remain in seclusion, declining the invitation.


    Shen Qin’s tone grew more anxious. “I’m asking, which characters for her name?”

    In truth, it wasn’t just reluctance to disturb Shen Qin. She simply didn’t want to help Fu Mingxiu. All the brothers in the family treated her kindly, except for Fu Mingxiu, who only regarded the fool Luo Fu as his real cousin and was always harsh with her.

    Shen Qin nodded in agreement.


    Luo Pen asked again, “Master, do you have anything you want to auction? It’s been years since youst submitted a perfume for auction.”


    “Even though the auction list is finalized, with your reputation, they wouldn’t refuse if you added a bottle at thest minute.”


    This was her true intention—she wanted Shen Qin to enter thepetition.


    Though the judges hailed Gu Yang’s perfume as a divine creation surpassing Firework, Firework was Shen Qin’s work from two years ago. Gu Yang might have surpassed Firework, but that didn’t mean she could outdo Shen Qin’s current skill.


    However, Shen Qin shook her head. She understood what Luo Pen was thinking and declined. “That’s not my goal. If Xiao Yang really is the Gu Yang I know, her level is far above mine. Why would I humiliate myself?”


    Luo Pen was stunned. “Far above you?”


    Shen Qin nodded with aplex expression. “It’s just a shame… she might not still be alive.”


    Outside, thete autumn rain pattered against the parasol trees. As night fell, the neon lights of the capital glowed on both sides of the streets, blending with the rain to create a kaleidoscope of color. The road beneath shimmered in the wet light.
