Despite all our best efforts and hard work


    nothing seems to change as people still suffer.


    That’s when I feel like a failure, a useless jerk


    when horrible injustices still manage to occur.


    People are drowning in the sea trying to get away


    from a government that are corrupt and deadly.

    I understand the complicity, the layers of gray


    yet if no effort is made, the pain would multiply.


    We must stick with conviction rather than caution


    because doing nothing is no longer an option.
