Lena didn’t know what Taya was thinking. To her, Taya was
only the source of her current embarrassment and discontent.
As soon as the banquet ended, Lena cried andined to her father and brother. “You must seek

Thinking of how he had just helped me, I thanked him. “Alpha Sterling, thank you for speaking up for
me earlier.”
Disappointment crossed Jackson’s face when I spoke.
He looked at my swollen cheek and said guiltily, “I’m sorry. You wouldn’t have been hurt if it weren’t for
