“I… uh… Please don’t misunderstand the situation. My mom insisted that I take care of you. I took off
your clothes to clean your body. I bear no feelings toward you,” she solemnly said as she nodded.
Kieran had yet to sober up, and Inez’s words hurt him. “So, you’re saying that I’m not charming at all? I
can’t believe you feel nothing toward me even though you took off my clothes.”
Inez was confused to hear that.

As she mulled over a proper exnation, she stared at his face. It was then she realized that he had a

Right as she was lost in her thoughts, Kieran grabbed her wrist again and said in a pitiful tone, “Inez,
did I hurt you too badly the other time? Is that why you don’t like me anymore? You don’t even feel

Inez nearly dropped her jaw.
She could not believe her mother would say that after seeing her daughter almost doing the intimate

gloomily wondered, What happened to me just now? I can’t believe I nearly did it with him without
closing the door. Am I drunk from Kieran’s alcohol scent?
At that, she smacked her forehead, remorseful and frustrated.
It was then she heard noisesing from outside-noises of a door getting locked.
Realization dawned upon her, and she lunged toward the door to rapidly turn the handle.
She was too slow, however.
“Mom, open the door! Why did you lock me in here? This is Kieran’s room. Where am I supposed to
sleep tonight?”
Madelyn’s voice came from the outside. “You’re my daughter, so I know you best. Please stop sticking
to your principles and get it on with him while you have the chance!”
Inez was bamboozled by her mother’s speech. “What are you talking about, Mom? He’s drunk; he’s not
thinking straight! I’ll be doing something immoral if I do it with him now!”
Madelyn was unfazed, however. “You’re a woman, and you don’t need to heed morals like those. Also,
I’m sure Kieran wants it too. Don’t worry, Inez. You have my support. Just sleep with him.”
“Mom!” Inez hissed, beginning to feel irked. “Stop messing around and open the door!”
Madelyn expressed her dissent with a hum. “My dear daughter, you were already on the brink of
aplishing it earlier. If you fail to win him over tonight, I will feel embarrassed on your behalf.”
Inez was so furious she could not bring herself to utter a word.
