Chapter 348 Neither Side ys Fair
Gwendolyn tensed up the moment she heard that, but she was quick to regain herposure and
asked, “You’re overthinking things. Why would I want to stall for time? How would I benefit from doing
that?”
Naturally, Charles did not believe her one bit.
That was when he recalled what Gwendolyn had said to him while they were arguing earlier.

Meanwhile, Nico had searched all over Alzer Pce, but the antidote was nowhere to be found.
Hmm… The pce is the safest ce to hide the antidote. Where else would Charles possibly keep it?

on it.
Jonah let out a disdainful snort when he saw that. “Even if you somehow get lucky and escape from us,
you will not be able to leave this pce. You’re not going to bring that thing out of here, so put it down
and turn around! Do it now, or I will shoot you!”
Nico slowly turned around without putting the ice box down.
Charles, who happened to arrive at the same time, was slightly surprised when he saw Nico’s face
under the dim streetmps.
“You? I can’t believe you lied to me about being Christian! To think that I fell for it and let you stick
around for so many days…” he eximed with a sneer.
Nico snorted in disdain. “That’s because you’re ridiculously gullible.”
The smile on Charles’ face vanished instantly as an icy-cold expression took its ce.
“What will we do with him, Mr. Lund?” Jonah asked.
“Don’t use your guns. They’re too loud. Bring him somewhere secluded and kill him,” Charles replied
with a nonchnt wave.
“Hey, Charles! Do you really think these guys have what it takes to kill me?” Nico asked with a sneer.
Charles arched an eyebrow at him in amusement. “Want to give it a try, then?”
Those words had barely left his mouth when Jonah delivered the first strike, but Nico dodged it in time
and responded with a counterattack.
It was six versus one, but Nico was so quick that he took two of them out in just a few seconds.
Even so, he was unarmed and had to hold on to the ice box, so he wasn’t able to move freely. One of
the guards managed to hit him in the back with the stun gun.
Nico’s body convulsed uncontrobly when the powerful electric current of the stun gun surged through
his body. Jonah seized that opportunity to hit Nico in the back of his knee with a baton.
Nico groaned in pain as he stumbled forward. He ced his right palm on the ground to stop himself
from falling, all while holding the ice box tightly in his left hand.
Charles clicked his tongue twice and said, “I know you’re a capable fighter because you were trained
by Cedrick himself. However, I doubt even you would be able to go against stun guns and pistols
empty- handed.”
Their conversation was interrupted when the sound of the violin from the event hall reached them.
Charles was losing his patience at that point.

“Got it.” Jonah whipped his gun out and pointed it at Nico’s head once again.
He was about to open fire when someone shouted, “Freeze! Nobody moves!”

A drop of blood flowed down Charles’ neck as Gwendolyn threatened, “This needle is ridiculously

While Jonah was frozen in surprise, Nico quickly snatched the gun over and pointed it at Jonah’s head.
Just like that, he had managed to turn the tide around. The guards were so shocked that they didn’t

what to do.
The tension was broken when Charlesughed and said, “That’s not very nice of you, Gwen. We were
making a fair deal here, weren’t we? How could you resort to theft like this?”
“You weren’t going to give me the antidote anyway, so why should I care about ying nice with a
cunning piece of sh*t like you?” Gwendolyn snapped back at him with a sarcastic sneer. “Let Nico go.
I’ll stay here with you instead.”
“That simply won’t do. The wedding isn’t until seven dayster. If he brings the antidote back to
Chanaca and cures Cedrick, that b*stard mighte over and steal you from me!” Charles replied and
motioned at the three guards, prompting them to aim their stun guns at Nico’s back.
Nico is sure to go down if they hit him with those stun guns again!
“Why don’t you put that toy away, Gwen? We both know you’re not going to kill me. I have an rm in
my hand. If I die, you and Nico will never make it out of here, and Cedrick will never receive the
antidote. Everyone will just end up dead!” Charles said with a sneer.
