Chapter 523 What Goes Around Comes Around
Donovan hummed and hawed, struggling to find words.
What else does Noah not understand?
"Why did you send the photo of me and Reba to Amy?" Noah questioned angrily. "Does seeing me
fail to live a good life makes you feel that d*mn good?!"
Upon hearing that, Donovan defended himself by exining, "How the hell was I supposed to know
she is Ewan''s sister?!"
"It doesn''t matter if she is Ewan''s sister or not. She is still my girlfriend," Noah added. "So, why did you
send the photo of me with another woman to my girlfriend?! Aren''t we buddies?! Shouldn''t you help me
keep this kind of thing a secret?"
Donovan was tongue-tied.
After a while, he finally said, "I wasn''t aware she was Ewan''s sister. Besides, I think Reba suits you
better. I did it for your good."
"Am I the one dating? Or you? Do I look like a three-year-old or a five-year-old to you? Do you honestly
think I don''t know what my heart wants?" Noah threw him a few questions before angrily hanging up
the phone.
As for Donovan, his face turned pale as he held the disconnected phone.
Why exactly did I choose to meddle in these matters in the first ce?
Look at the mess I have gotten myself into now! Not only have I failed to please any parties, but I also
put myself and my family at risk.
Thinking of this, he turned to look at Reba. His gaze was devoid of the closeness and admiration he
used to have. "Are you happy now?"
Reba frowned as she asked, "Donovan, what does that supposed to mean?"
"Do you think I''m stupid?" Donovan sneered. "Don''t think I don''t know that you''ve been using me as a
pawn, Reba. I suggest you better find a way to solve this crisis. Or else, I won''t let you off!"
Frankly speaking, he had been helping Reba wasn''t solely because they grew up together and
were good friends. It was also because he thought she was the one Noah fancied.
He intended to gain some merits for himself by helping Reba marry Noah.
That way, he would undoubtedly benefit from it when Reba became the madam of the Ellis Family.
But now, due to Reba using him as a pawn, he offended Amy and was uncertain of the events that
would happen in the future.
Of course, he believed Reba would suffer a more tragic fate than him!
After all, he was merely an aplice whopounded the problem. Reba, on the other hand,
was Amy''s true love rival. If Ewan wanted to deal with them, she and the Richardson Family would be
his first targets.
Now that he had taken his anger out on Reba, coupled with his belief that she and the Richardson
Family would definitely have a bad ending in the future, his friendly attitude toward Reba took a
sharp turn.
Reba, who was first startled by the revtion of Amy''s brother''s true identity, looked extremely grim
when getting sternly warned by Donovan.
Inwardly, she particrly despised Donovan''s attitude of elevating and belittling others and turning his
back on her so quickly. However, she currently didn''t want to offend him.
Also, she didn''t have the confidence to offend anyone.
shing Donovan a gentle smile, she said, "Donovan, we have been friends since childhood. Rest
assured. If there''s anything I can do to help you in the future, I will definitely spare no effort."
"Huh," Donovan sneered. "Even now, you''re still pretending in front of me. Are you not tired? Instead of
doing this, why don''t you try to curry favor with Noah? Or beg Amy not to tell her brother about you
scheming against her and spare you?"
The muscles on Reba''s face twitched, and she could barely maintain her smile.
"I have something else that I need to attend to, so I''ll leave first." She feared she couldn''t refrain from
losing her temper and would fall out with Donovan if she stayed longer.
Once she got home, she locked herself in her bedroom, feeling anxious like a cat on a hot tin roof.
What should I do?
It seems that I have taken the most dangerous path by ident.
At first, Reba thought marrying Noah was her best choice. To her surprise, his current girlfriend
turned out to be someone with an astonishing family background instead of a poor girl as she had
imagined.
She thought that with Amy''s background, it wouldn''t matter how she treated her, even if she crushed
Amy under her heels.
But never had she dreamed…
Thinking about the wrath Ewan would unleash on her and the Richardson Family in the future, which
could lead to their downfall, she felt fear wash over her in waves.

Right now, she could only pray that Ewan and Amy''s rtionship wasn''t strong enough; or that Ewan
was magnanimous enough not to care about these trivial matters and spare her and her family.
Otherwise, the only path waiting for her would beplete ruin.
In the meantime, her parents sensed something was wrong when they noticed that she locked herself
in her room and didn''te out.
Concerned, her mother knocked on the door, entered, and asked, "Ba, what''s wrong? Are you
feeling under the weather?"
"Mom…" Reba couldn''t bear her emotional stress and told her mother everything.
Audrey Green, Reba''s mother, was shocked after listening to her story. "How so? How can Amy
possibly turn out to be Ewan''s sister?"
"It''s true!" Panic-stricken, Reba asked, "Mom, what should we do now?"
Sure enough, a big shot like Ewan can easily ruin our family.
To him, it''s like an elephant wanting to crush an ant. A mere lift of its foot will do the trick.
And will an elephant have any concerns or hesitations when crushing an ant?
The answer is no.
So as long as Ewan and Amy have a good rtionship, he will certainly avenge her if he finds out she
has been mistreated.
By then, our family will be doomed!
Audrey, too, was jittery as soon as these thoughts crossed her mind. Not knowing what to do, she
anxiously replied, "Come with me. We have to tell your dad about this."
Since this matter concerned the survival of the Richardson Family, she had to discuss a solution with
her husband without any dy.
With that, the mother-and-daughter duo hurried downstairs and ryed the situation to Isaac
Richardson, Reba''s father.
After hearing what they said, Isaac''s facial expression changed drastically. "Is this true?"
Reba nodded. "It should be!"
"How did this happen?" Simrly, Isaac was in a state of panic.
Our family''spany is already on the brink of copse. We can''t withstand any more disturbances.
If Ewan really seeks revenge on us, our family will surely be ruined.
He couldn''t help but light a cigarette and take a few deep puffs. A few minutester, he came to a
conclusion. "Audrey, prepare some valuable items, find Amy, and take Reba with you. Apologize to
her, and make sure she forgives Reba. Don''t let herin about this to Ewan!"
"Go and apologize to Amy?!" Reba looked reluctant.
Amy is my love rival!
To ask me to apologize to her is to sentence me to shame!
"What''s the matter? You don''t want to go?" Isaac cast her a cial look before continuing, "Between
apologizing to Amy and letting our family go bankrupt to the point that we have to live in poverty for the
rest of our lives, which one do you choose?"
Looking ashen, Reba parted her lips but couldn''te up with a reply.
Which one will I choose?
Is there even a need to say?
Apologizing to Amy is just a momentary embarrassment, but if our family''spany goes bankrupt, we
will live on the streets and be poor for the rest of our lives.
Between momentary embarrassment and a lifetime of poverty, I will pick the first option, no doubt.
Still, I feel abashed and resigned.
In fact, I wouldn''t have tried to please Noah if I had known this would happen.
How I wish I had chosen someone else back then!
I should have picked a man without a girlfriend. That way, none of this would have happened today.
But it''s pointless to talk about these things now. What''s done is done. I can only obey Dad''s words and
meet Amy with Mom.
